Mateychuk > Provorov/Severson
I think he will be, it's tough to gauge how he'd be as an everyday NHLer right now which is fair. As a prospect I would have said Provorov was better but we see what he is now. I'm just glad in this case they aren't rushing it as I don't suspect will be an issue in any case in the Waddell era. Mateychuk does have a leadership quality I feel that I didnt feel with Provorov though.

Anyone at game tonight (Wednesday vs Rochester)? I’m with family in C120.

I so love the jumbo screen here.

I'm here. I sit in 126, just to the left of the net in the corner. Are you by where Tony Brown calls the game? They just moved him over there this year.

Yeah he’s about five rows in front of me just to my left. Wearing a CBJ cap and third jersey

Lots of delay of game penalties tonight. 4 so far tonight between both teams. 1-0 Monsters early 2nd. TFW with the goal. Another assist for Mateychuk. 16 goals by both teams in first 2 meetings this year, so quiet so far this game.

Mateychuk set up nicely in front of the net, I think by Gambrell, but missed the net. Some good 4 on 4 zone time, but couldn't convert.

Monsters were on of the least penalised teams coming in, but the discipline is out the door tonight.

Edit: Monsters have 98 PIM. 5th lowest in league. PK is 75.7%, only 3 teams are worse.

Tough game for Greaves last night. Not much D in front of him in the 4-2 loss. Faced 48 shots. He has played against Rochester 3 time this year, getting pulled after 31 minutes in the first meeting, and has faced 123 shots in those games. Gave up 12 goals, so has a slightly above .900 save percentage against them. Unfortunately, the offence has only managed 7 goals in the games, with 4 coming in the shootout loss.

Vogelhuber has his hands full this year. It will be interesting how it turns out.

I would normally be disappointed at the penalties, but I remembered the number 44 and 89 refs love to call penalties and kill any momentum a game has. Both teams had 7 each, and aside from the obvious delay of games, probably could have let some go for the sake of having a good moving game.

Monsters have some work to do on both sides of the puck.

Seems like greaves is having a real tough go early on. Hopefully he and the monsters can get going
I think he 's been playing good, minus the first Hershey game, but Rochester has been pummelling us, and really, giving up 12 in those games is good. That total could easily be higher the chances they were getting. Last night could have easily been 7-2.

How are you feeling about the Monsters not keeping Meyer, Dunne, etc...

We're still unsure of why. Maybe they wanted to make it harder on purpose.

It is one of those things that I could not tolerate if I was an AHL fan.

I don't think too much about losing guys, especially at this level. They probably see no path to the NHL, so they move on to maybe get a shot elsewhere. Also, Columbus may have told them they are going to try other players and it may be better if they move on. I think the players make the decision more than the team does.

We were talking last night that we miss Dunne and Gaunce because we really have no one to replace their size. Butler is about the only big guy I can think of, and he has been getting playing time, but he hasn't really shown too much. We did get a lot smaller than last year, and by smaller I am not talking height wise. It showed against Rochester.

If Carson Meyer left because he wanted more opportunity, that was maybe an oops. Because he'd be getting some NHL looks with the Jackets right now, and instead he's in San Diego.

Maybe, but it is hard to take injuries into account. If we had everyone healthy, he is probably still in Cleveland. I guess you have to take your chances. They do have nice weather in SanDiego though.
