Adidas Bruins uniforms

Good to see New Jersey is getting new jerseys.

:laugh:I see what you did there...

Do the morons who designed this white uniform realize that on TV from a distance it's damn near impossible to distinguish the yellow lines with this stripping pattern? All you see is white and black, especially in the more dimly lit arenas.

No, and they don't care. It's all about "change for the sake of change." Since Adidas has to make it look as though they made changes. It isn't about anything but $$$$ and having now sense. They don't notice and they obviously don't care. When/if fans complain then the league will maybe wise up!

Same problem I had with the pretweeked versions.

They look good in still shots and up close.

From a distance, the black swallows the gold up.
The 80s uniforms had it right with the thicker gold stripes and very thin black.

Yes the thicker stripes stand up to it visually, and IMO the gold now looks more like washed out yellow on the white uni's.

Just saw the NBA is going with ads on jerseys moving forward. At least we're not there...yet.

But you can bet that will be the "new normal" and before you know it, MLB, the NFL and yes, the NHL will follow suit. In spite of what Bettman said about never having ads on jerseys, the $$ will be just too big to ignore and the owners will demand it. Now that the bar has been set to $800 million for stadium naming rights, it's (unfortunately) just a matter of time.

And believe me, I hope I'm dead wrong.

O-Riginal Gangster??

ORG Packaging, our new hockey overlords.

Jesus, it's bad enough with the ads plastered all over the boards and on the ice. If the NHL players begin to look like soccer players and race car drivers, then the game could become truly unwatchable.

No it's not, but to not take it into consideration is moronic. It's a real thing and should be a factor when making design decisions.

Anyone who is paid to design sports jerseys and doesn't factor in how they appear on camera during play shouldn't be getting paid to design jerseys.

Fair enough.

The Bruins had their uniforms perfect right up until 1995. Those uniforms were nice updated classic Original Six uniforms worn from ~1976 - 1995.

Ever since 1995 it's been a classic cluster in the Bruins uniform department. How many Original Six teams have screwed with there uniforms as much as the Bruins have.

I guess if you can't beat the Penguins, you might as well dress like them.:shakehead

You're right in a sense that the Boston Garden era uniforms from the mid-70s until the mid-90s were as close to "perfect" as Bruins uniforms have ever gotten.

The current iteration, the home blacks have the same flavour as the blacks from that era, with the addition of the yellow shoulder yoke from the 60s/early 70s. I'm fine with those.

The road whites are a desendent of the whites from the mid90s until 2006, and are a step down from the whites of Bourque and Neely.

I don't care for the updated spoked B. On the pre 1995 spoked B, it was simple and more distinct, gold rim for the black jersey's and black rim for the whites. This really stood out well on TV.

I can see that, makes sense.

I like the style of the current logo, but would be cool to see them alternate the colours so the "B" is gold and not black for the home uniforms similar to the 80s/90s style.

Is it me or does the gold in the socks not match the shoulders? I hate the socks. Don't mind the jersey.

I was thinking the same thing but I think it might just be the lighting in the room, it makes the yellow strips on the socks look darker than the yellow on the jersey.
