What? Harris isn't even close to Guhle as a player.

Heck, even Barron has showed tremendously more than Harris as a rookie.

Better highs? Sure, both Guhle and even Barron have shown some great things. Overall rookie season? IMO Harris would take it. He has been a steady minute eater that has held more than his own defensively.

Steady as a heavily sheltered bottom pair D with no offense and no special team play. Guhle has literally been deployed as a top pair D the second he hit the ice and he's thriving ? What a weird post. Probably the weirdest post I ever read.

Yeah, it’s a bit of a take.

Guhle is vastly superior to Harris.

Harris is a good player, but he's 3 years older than Ghule. Ghule is the total package, does everything perfectly, has all the physical and athletic attribute you want in a d-man. They're not even comparable, at least so far. Maybe Harris will explode and be more than we see from him, but I fail to see even a hint in their game that shows Harris to be close to Ghule. I'm no professional scout and I've been wrong before though.

Looking forward to see another Nygren and Norlinder....

When was the last time Habs had a decent Swedish player they drafted ?

And besides Lehkonen, the draft from Finland is as "impressive"....

Naslund and Koivu are about the only great players coming from these two countries that Habs ever drafted.

Hopefully this time we have a good one.

Nygren was drafted at 21 years old after his first season in SEL and Norlinder was drafted at 19 years after 14 games in SEL and 21 pts in 30 games in junior.

Engstrom
In his 18 years old season which is this season he is a full time SEL player with 43 games (out of 52 games)
(16 pts) and completely dominated junior with 13 pts in 7 games.

Engstrom is the better prospect.

What Engstrom is doing is definitely more impressive.

I never quite understood the hype behind Norlinder. It was one of those things where if he developed absolutely perfectly he could be an interesting player, but everyone ignored the fact he was never some offensive dynamo at any level.

I don't see how this argues against that Harris has had a better rookie season. Doesn't mean the same as Harris is a better prospect.

I guess if playing 16 more games to date than Guhle is what you are basing your take on then sure. :dunno:

That's all we got to compare them, their rookie season, all my argument is based on that.

Is Engstrom coming over when his season ends, though just for the remainder of tgis season, then back to Sweden next year?

Guhle has easily been better than Harris and that gap will continue to grow. Clearly MSL agrees as he was playing Guhle more and playing him in bigger situations and against better players.

I have been one of Harris' biggest supporters all season but his upside is not vey high imo. I think his future is as a bottom pairing dman who doesn't play very many special team minutes and very likely not with the Montreal Canadiens as there are just too many talented LD's in the system that have a huge physical and/or offensive skillset advantage over him. I still like him as he is a great skater and extremely smart and poised but he is going to get squeezed out imo.

From today's game.

Holy christ that sequence in the second gif? He's like f***ing Markov out there.

I love Hutson and he still has to have the highest up side but I don't know. Engstrom might be my favourite of our D prospects.

I TRY to be a bit more cautious with my projections lol but I'm starting to wonder why this guy can't have top pairing upside.

Kid has a helluva slapper too that we saw more of at the beginning of the season in his first hot spell if I remember correctly.
