Guests left by mid 3rd …. What a dud

Stella commercial was good … Matt with the suburban dad gray beard and puffy “I use my free time to catch up on my drinking when I should be sleeping” face

o line

We need to strengthen O line w eagles

I know that Washington and Philadelphia are in the same division and you are supposed to not like them but this game was the definition of "defense wins championships"

Welp at least Dotson didn't get that TD and I was able to absolutely stuff myself with some good food ...

Can't believe the amount of DC fans I knew pulling for the Eagles last night

Happy Silly Season, everybody! Time to Mock Around the Clock!

Confession: My approach is to draft for need(ish) -- I generally swing for one of the top players on the board at a position of relative need according to me. As I see it right now, the areas of primary need for us are OL and DL, and those happen to be fairly plentiful around our 1st round pick. So I'm tending towards one of those guys in my drafts -- more towards DL, not because I view it as a greater need, but the players who tend to be there tend to be DLs.

That said, occasionally Jeanty falls, and I'll take him. Maybe an Egbuka. Point is, there's a general theme but nothing's etched in stone.

So here's my favorite this morning (all players were among top 5-10 available at time of selection):

1739202520849.png

1) There's almost no chance Banks is there, but the draft gods gaveth, so I tooketh.
2) Walker is another who might not be there, but he's massive, good against the run, and the kind of beef that could help us fight the tush-push 2-3x per year.
3) Higgins is a big body (6-4, 200+) who produced and tends to be there around our 3rd pick across different mock tools, so I feel like he could be a real option
4) Sampson is all over the place across different mock platforms. One of the scouting reports is that you have to take his great #s with a grain of salt because Heupel's O has him playing in space. Sounds like a Kliff-fit to me!
5) Webb was a 5-star who started at UGA, best OL in his conference now, plays G, may better project to C. Our backup C sucks like a Hoover, and OL depth and versatility is always a need.
6) First time I've seen Batty, allegedly a very good run defender on the edge with developing pass rush. Worthwhile project for a late 6th.
7) Pegues is another wide-bodied DI run-stopper. Another brick in the wall.
8) We over-drafted a KY LB named "Jay-mihn" in the 1st, here's our change to even the scales by hopefully under-drafting one in the 7th.

(Swear to God, I won't do this every time I post a mock -- just had to get it out of my system.)

Mahomes and the Chiefs came out looking like absolute ass in this game and Philly was on a mission.

They were also oddly out coached. No idea why there weren’t a ton of quick screens the like given that the Eagles have an elite pass rush and don’t let you get splash plays.

Reid is usually great at that stuff.

Washington actually played them better and had they won probably would have been a coin flip against KC in the Super Bowl.

What model?

Ok you caught me in a little fib, its a QLED but the only difference is the little squiggly dash that changes the O to a Q :D I got the Hisense 85U8N for $1699 from BB, the picture is insanely good and bright, the SB was amazing to see (awful to watch) on it. Its apparently gone up in price a bit in the last couple days. Main reason I got it was the full array local dimming, which really makes the dark's pop with contrast. Nothing else in that price range had that technology.

So weird ... eagles exclusively only rush 4. everyone knows that. 2 weeks to prepare.

the lack of quick hits and screens .. maybe bc those tend to work against a blitz but when eagles get blitz like instant pressure only rushing 4 they ave the other covering screens and backs slipping out of the backfield

I guess they didnt appreciate that front 4 enough and then things got away from them pretty quickly

Which is a little surprising given that it's no secret -- especially to KC -- that KC's O-line is a pretty clear weakness. Would've figured mitigating that mismatch would've been priority 1.

It seemed obvious every time Mahomes dropped back to pass, he had no one open because there was 7 guys back in coverage. Kelce was doubled every play (smart), their corners covered the modest talents at WR like blankets. The sacks were mostly coverage sacks, but Mahomes also got a little panicky and stepped up into the sacks a few times as well, especially in the 3rd when the game was decided.

Ultimately, the Eagles were much more talented, but also better coached. They played to their strengths perfectly, but it sure helps when their strengths are "everything".

Just here to point out: The previous year that the Eagles won the Super Bowl, less than five months later the Caps won the Cup.
