It's a team sport ... blaming players gets you nowhere.
The first goal of the game was Scheifele mistake right?
How many times did Helly gave the puck away this year? The Vegas player batted the puck out of the air ... that's called lucky.
Yes Connor made a mistake but he did setup Scheifele's 2nd goal right?
Vegas got the bounces tonight ... Laine shoots 1" to the right it's a goal ... Perreault lifts it 2" it's a goal ... Connor goes to the net after MAF makes 2 unbelievable saves on Scheifele he goes a split second later he puts in the rebound like in the Nashville game.
It's a game of inches and split second decisions you guys need to relax.
Blaming players sure does get you somewhere. I can give you an example: The Pens moved away from Fleury to Murray and went on to win the cup.

Murray earns start over Fleury for Penguins in Game 4

Helly not playing to his standards is the biggest reason why Vegas leads this series now. I bet that everyone in the locker room thinks so too, including Helly.

I didn't get to watch the game but it seems clear to me that we need some secondary scoring. No player can drag a team to the cup on their own. Sounds like Scheifele was the one who came closest to tying it up as well.

Also what is up with allowing goals in and around the 1st minute of the game? That has happened several times during the playoffs and it's such a deflating way to start a game.

Scheifele is a boss.

Again we make mistakes and Vegas is just chugging along with their energy players playing a tight team game. Fleury is pretty decent too.

Vegas had a nice rest before this series and I think that is really helping them after they shook off the rust in game 1.

Jets can win this series, it is right there. But they need to give everything they have every shift, because that is exactly what Vegas is going to do.

We're toast until/unless we decide to show up for more than just the THIRD FRIGGIN' PERIOD!

Very disappointing game to watch. Too many sloppy mistakes.

Also, it doesn't help that their goalie is playing better than ours.

Take a deep breath everybody. We ain’t really even supposed to be here! The problem is we’re up against a team that really isn’t supposed to be here. Lol. Vegas is annoyingly relentless. If we win game 4 we’re still in pretty good shape. If we don’t we’re in trouble and it may be the end of the party. Would suck but we’ll have earned some great experience and we’ll be back next year.

I’m more frustrated by guys like Perrault and Little than I am Laine. Hopefully Helly got all his comedy bits out now and can get back to providing rock solid goalie work...

Yeah that is just the weirdest aspect of this series to me. Feels so weird.

i had a 445 Am wake-up. went to bed after the 2nd. good thing i did, or the early 3rd period goal would have resulted in 4 or less hrs of sleep.
what can i say? vegas outplayed them for most of the 1st. the jets outplayed them in the second. vegas is scoring off of jets brainfarts. spread the blame all around.
get rid of the dummy mistakes and you're winning this series. plain and simple.
winnipeg's the better team.
winnipeg's making more mistakes.
vegas is capitalizing more often off of mistakes than wpg is.
equation ain't that difficult.

Can we get back to discussing what REALLY matters here?!?

Which barn is loudest!? We can’t win nothing until it’s firmly established! There’s never been a Stanley Cup winner that didn’t also win the crowd decibel meter war! And also, if we aren’t the loudest barn in the NHL (while also being the smallest) then it means the team isn’t wanted here and will have to move pronto! More talk of crowd noise please because it is critical!

It has been a bit of a thing all season long that we have trouble dealing with a really heavy forechecking team. It seems to really mess up our flow.

1. They did. He barely left his crease in the third.

Tanev was fine. You try to score goals 5-on-5 with Laine trying to forecheck with the front third of his stick blade.

Laine had 43 goals this year. I think he is managing just fine.

We are up against it.......some here can’t handle the pressure as usual which is so predictably sad . There are ebbs and flows to all series, we REALLY need the next win and our game will reflect that. Hope Fluery is human and we get the split in Vegas.

How is Fleury not suspended for the wet willie?

He's poking the bear. The bigger question is, what will the bear do?

winnipeg's the better team.
winnipeg's making more mistakes.

Correction - Vegas almost NEVER missed a chance to cash in on our mistakes in games 2 and 3. Those mistakes have killed those two games. Very frustrating and the frequency of those blunders is very un-Jets like.

Yep I’m right here with you.
Not sure if this will go beyond 5 now or not.
Regardless a very good season with nothing to be ashamed about.
If we go on great but all in all who would have thought it.
Vegas might be a new franchise but the players are NHL players so it’s not like it started from scratch...all previous starters playing.
Chevy gave Vegas nothing to work with unlike other GM’s did and at least one of them is out of a job already.
So will watch whatever hockey is left now and enjoy instead of saying what if.

Very good thoughts. And with a huge modicum of truth.

My problem is that I think we can get this series. Its right there. We are not getting destroyed 5-0, so this is good competitive hockey.

However if I were the coach, I would adjust two things: Get Tanev off the second line or elevate Laine to the first (you want puck-getters? Shazzam). Give Toby a couple of games off (he is getting Ducked).

Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to put Laine on with Chef and Wheeler. Connor could work well with Stastny ans Ehlers aswell.

Yeah. The more screaming fans the better. I’m just not interested in debating (on the forums) our crowd is louder than yours or our crowd’s chants are more “creative” than yours. I couldn’t care less...the whole subject is boring and meaningless at this point. Some troll popping in and “burning” me with “Vegas crowd is killing the whiteout” is just dumb. Now “vegas’ forecheck is burning the Jets...?” That hurts...

Yeah
We need a PA guy that will scream at us tell us when to yell o_Oand when to go to the bathroom :eek:but again the crowd is better than that scripted chant lovers in Nashville:thumbu:

Yeah, that’s ridiculous .. I find other southern teams do that as well.

“Time for a Predators powwwwwerrrrr-plaaaaaaayyyyy !!!!”

Give it a rest already. So annoying.

So its pass for connor?

Talk about bias there

Laine plays up high most of the time to cover up pinching defense.

Laine is not playing to the huge expectation yet despite putting up better numbers and had direct impact on the Jets 3 out of 9 wins.

When we put a blame one we should do the same for the other.
Laine doesn't primarily play up high to cover for pinching D, that's not how the Jets system runs. He's late going side to side and getting down low though. Connor's turnover at the blue line cost the Jets, but he was very strong on the forecheck and was key on the second goal.
