Georgiev with a bad play when they had a chance to get possession and then a softie goal. Unit was gassed, wasn’t a ton they could do, but still, the overall effort in the final period and OT was disgusting. I don’t understand this team. I don’t know what causes it or if it has anything to do with Quinn, but the whole team just goes to sleep for entire periods/games sometimes.

Shesterkin doesn’t come out and play the puck like that in OT and screw everything up nor does he allow countless five hole goals from a distance

That was the worst 20+ minutes of hockey I have every witnessed. Honestly with 5 minutes left Quinn should have called a timeout.

DeAngelo was lost all game and he gets OT ice time?

Done with DeAngelo. His only upside is offense and hasn't done jack and now he's back to the lazy listless defensive effort like when we first traded for him.

Never seen such little effort. It looked like every shift the players were on a 2+ minute shift with their effort. When you are making Malkin look like he is putting effort on the ice their is as problem.

Zibanejad’s laziness caused that whole sequence of getting hemmed in their zone, and Georgiev came out and played the puck like an idiot; then gave up yet another five hole goal.

I didn’t realize how many defensemen were down for the Penguins. How can we not take advantage of that?

Also there’s no way Zibanejad is 100% after having COVID.

I don’t know if he injured from the hit or still weak from Covid, but there is no intensity in his game. No jump to his skating and no urgency. If he needs time off, give it to him because when he plays like this he is not an asset. Arguably our most important FWD last years looks like he did here 3 years ago when he just couldn’t put it all together yet
