I didn't catch a ton of the WJC but what Finland games I did watch, Pieniniemi looked good and always seemed to be involved in the play. Would be cool if he panned out to become a serviceable NHLer.
Same, I watched a lot of the WJC and you can see that the Finland coaching staff used in tons in every single situation. That's a great sign of trust! Over a ppg as a D in Kingston this year, has to be doing something good!

Article indicated that pens stole him on the Petts deal. 8 points since the deal. RH shot winger who has the skill and frame to be a quality forward in a couple years. Another couple nice high picks in the draft this year and next with getting a surprise or two Pens can get back on track.

OR, we can fire the coach and get back on track sooner.

But yeah, Fernstrom is encouraging. I wonder how his grinding game is, though?

Howe brings an attitude and grit more than pure skill. He has skill but his game is more in your face making his presence known. Not a commodity the Pens have in big supply.

If Howe can be a Michael BunTing type 3rd liner in the NHL without having to rely on PP time in order to score at all (like Bunting, even alongside a Hall of Fame center), that's a win.
