I'll tell you who this team could use right now, the Wheat King himself, Brett the hitman Schneider, but like, the version of him 2 years from now, immediately. You see why the Rangers went out of their way to get a player like him.

The development of Kakko and Lafreniere should be everyone’s red flag concern right now and if they keep this up you better find someone that can get the most out of them.

I haven’t seen Laf hit anyone not named Libor Hajek yet. It’s amazing really.

and kakko looks like shit we can try our best to sugar coat it with a few good shifts here and there along the walls but he bumbles pucks like crazy. He never gets to the middle of the ice. This is a kid that was deadly with the puck on his stick. What’s happening? The one thing we haven’t tried? Maybe playing him on a top line and power play for 18 plus mins win or lose for a week. TRY IT

Wow you're getting defensive, wish Tony would.
You don’t think Strome sucks.

And you claim to have actual hockey contacts.

And, you blame ADA for goals against he wasn’t responsible for.

LOL. :biglaugh:

The other issue that needs even more magnification is the complete whiff in 2017 with the Andersson pick. They failed that kid, whether you want to argue he was never that good, it’s irrelevant, what’s relevant is they blew the pick. Rob Thomas, Martin Necas, etc, they had chances to grab a C and blew it because they went with the “nhl ready prospect.” You know who else was Nhl ready? Kakko and Lafreniere, and both look out of sorts. That’s on the coach. He’s a clueless, and the organization better watch themselves. You ruin those two and you’ll be setting yourselves back five years.

This team also needs to just shoot when there's a lane instead of looking for that one extra pass for the slam dunk. Just get the sense they don't want to get their hands dirty and don't believe in playing for rebounds.

Honestly, when do you think a players play is their own responsibility? I don’t even care if I agree or not I just want to understand this logic that players not being good is someone else’s fault

A few games that roster is stupid stacked

Ok but Beniers started on the 4th line and outplayed the other centers to gain a bigger role. He’s been their best complete forward from wire to wire. Take away the WJC and he still improves his draft stock.

It’s a weak center draft but Beniers would help this team a lot (except on faceoffs). He’s a Toews type. Points will come from either hard work or creativity.

The coach had no idea how to use Lias. Lias was at fault
Too for a lot that happened but he handled that poorly as a coach. 6 mins a night wasn’t getting it done. He’s sitting gauthier now every game. Won’t play Shesterkin two in a row. Lafreniere and Kakko are all over the place and we’re nhl ready. The coach takes a lot of blame. For a college coach that was supposed to good for development, he’s playing his top-6 20+ mins a game to help bail him out and win games now. He’s not developing guys. He doesn’t care about that at this point. He knows he needs to keep his job.

But Gorton should be next. Wasn’t a JD hire and looking like four straight years without the playoffs. Neil Smith was fired after 3 and he had their only Cup in 944 years.
Gorton had to clean up and rebuild a team that was going nowhere.

Smith had a team of veterans that were expected to produce better. Not very comparable situations.

All you did was prove what a small, soft skinned, snowflake you were. But you do you bud.
Now look who’s getting defensive, lmao!!

It’s ok man. We all have different opinions.

You think Strome is a top 6 center. I don’t. You also think ADA is trash. I don’t.
You think you have sources. I don’t.

Yep. Don't forget Suzuki. I mean I'm a huge Chytil fan but we gotta see it for a long stretch before we say he's at the level of Thomas/Suzuki

Thankfully your opinion doesn't matter

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the young players Quinn has done the best with happened to go through college hockey.
Players that come through NCAA are usually a couple years older by the time they make it to the NHL and are more polished bc the NCAA has a lot of men playing in it.

There’s a big difference between Fox with 3 years and Miller with 2 years of NCAA and a Laf straight from juniors and Kakko coming in at 18 from Europe.

So those college players are further in their development so it makes it easier on the coach because they’re more mature.

Nils Hoglander 6 points and counting at barely 5 foot 9. Kakko and Lafreniere total of 3 points. Yeah yeah yeah I know the defense and goaltending sucks in the north for the most part.
