Because he was a nobody on planet hockey until the OHL. He wasn't committed to hockey until he was 15-16 years old, focusing on tennis before that, which lead to him playing in none-elite leagues which aren't scouted.

He only ended up in the OHL thanks to Marco Rossi's dad telling the 67' to go watch him. They are neighbors.

Yeah, pretty interesting background - it's not an excuse not to scout him this year, however.

the forgotten man, hopefully he's back sooner than later- woulda been nice to see how he fit in.

It's fine, youngest guy in the 2022 draft, send him back to junior automatically it's all good.

Saw him last night, impressed me with his involvement in all 3 zones

I'm expecting a BIG season from him, I'll be comparing him to the older 2023s.

He is an intriguing pick that is for sure

I know you REALLY can't judge a draft till like 7 years later or something but I'll still take drafts where you win on paper right off the hop.

Man did we ever go big on skill. He looks impressive.

I really didn't expect much from the '22 draft, but yeah, so far it looks way better than I expected.

As for drafts where we win on paper, at the very least there's a 'feel good' element to it, and if they pan out, the better.

Still remember the '12 draft though, where we definitely won on paper... goddamn, everything went to hell.

Vinny just scored a hell of a goal against Guelph. Burned the dman wide and went top corns.

Cam Allen hasn't looked like anything so far.

He 100% looks like a young Sigourney Weaver and I'll never be able to unsee it now.

Obviously early and the team is far better but...

48 Points -> 92 Point Pace

Is a nice on-paper improvement! I've watched only a couple games live but he was easily one of the most notable players on the ice in both games. So encouraging to say the least..

I've never seen him play but a jump from. 0.75 ppg to 1.35ppg is impressive
