Rebuild or don't, I'm fine with either one. Don't half-ass it.

Once they traded Brassard they were already putting their teeth into the core of this team and proceeded to kick the can that season and the following season.

Stepan was an atom bomb. Once he's gone the whole thing has to start. Everyone had another year at that point. More value. But they had to try it again.

I understand the process. It's just grating that we're in year 1 of the process and year 4 of having my day ruined.

After 2016. I was prepared for seeing the team broken down. The concept of "rebuild on the fly" was fool's gold. In spite of it, an opportunity for one last chance at a Cup run fell into their laps, except AV did his best to kill it. And here we are.

Yup. I really don't know what a lot of people expected this year. They are 1-4 and could easily be 3-2 if officiating wasn't so brutal and they could finish. They haven't embarrassed themselves out there expect for the 3rd period against Carolina. This may be a very long season but I honestly believe the future is very bright for this team. Chances are we pick up an elite prospect or 2 at the deadline and keep adding to what is becoming a deep prospect pool.

People just need to rip something to shreds when switching among Facebook, Amazon, and Porn tabs in their browsers.

I was expecting a few that weren't awful.

And again, this is the fourth season this team is boring af but the first we're potentially getting anything out of it as far as the future.

The process just started and the hockey is already old.
Today wasn't awful, we had 2 games we were really outplayed, it was the Sharks games, which was expected, and the Hurricanes game.
What pisses me off is that we're wasting ice time on players that won't be here as soon as february. Why do we give Zucc 20 min a game and Buchnevich 11 min like today? Why do we play Staal instead of Pionk and TDA? Why does Chytil get 4th line minutes and Vesey top 6?
It's getting frustrating fast.

I fear that we in 2 years wouldn't have minded a Nils Lundkvist and Shatty for a 7th pick trade...
Worst comes to worst he will be bought out, and with the amount of ELC's the Rangers will have it won't kill them.

OK, it would kill us in 2020-2021 lol

There is nothing half assed about this rebuild at all. It's going to take some time and they haven't been nearly as bad as you say. They have been played competitively in most of their game and could easily be 3-2. It may be a long season but the future is bright. Don't worry, be happy.

Rebuilding on the fly is for teams who already have a decent system and are still taking their first rounders.

We mortgaged too much to do that.

on good note sens are winning against LA. Someone please tell me the top 5 in the 2019 draft will be better than the 2017 and 2018 drafts

Maybe he should start eating them, because he's been ****ing terrible so far.
I wouldn't say terrible. He's made some really creative plays out there. Problem is he's not doing it consistently, which is an issue most young players have. Playing at a high level, consistently.

We've had a lot of turnover. New faces. New coach. New system. We're 10 days into the new season.

Is the future bright? I don't think there's anything special about our system at all right now.

I think we're 3 seasons away from even having a vision of what this will look like.

And it's going to take that long because we did half-ass it for 3 years.

I would say terrible. Especially for a guy that's supposed to be one of our most highly skilled players, he hasn't created any offense whatsoever. I don't have the numbers on me, but I would bet they would back me up.

The 2019 draft is looking very top heavy. A great top 15 or so, and then a drop off. That being said, it's too early to call a draft deep or shallow. A draft's depth is dictated by who steps up in their D-1 year, how many risers there are, etc.

It's not besides the point. It's literally the point.

Firstly, you're not Nostradamus, so it's very possible their record would be the same, if not similar, with better officiating.

Second, I just find complaints about officiating so pathetic. Players and fans who do so after a game is over just sound like they're making excuses and looking to place blame anywhere but on themselves or their team.

The Rangers are not good this year. I know it's hard to fathom since we've been contenders for nearly a decade, but it's the truth.

Losing is in our best interest. And they surely didn't deserve to win any games they've lost thus far, sans maybe Buffalo.

I have a couple problems with this. Whether the refs meant to be evenhanded in this one they pretty much failed. I do expect that when one of our players is wrestled down from behind like a calf in a rodeo and right in front of a referee that a call be made--when something like 15 seconds later they call a penalty on us--getting that wrong too it's kind of bullshit. That Edmonton used the subsequent power play to take the lead and score the eventual winning goal is galling but here's where a team either reacts well to adversity or not. The Rangers didn't do bad as far as effort but they didn't do great either as far as result. The next penalty to Staal was another pretty bad call. Staal didn't grab hold--that was made apparent by the replay so.......the refs sucked in this game and they had a direct effect on the game's outcome and there's no other way of parsing that as far as I'm concerned. Good teams very often though do rise to adversity and rise to the occasion. The Rangers did not do that here. So it's okay to blame them for not digging themselves out of the hole but the officiating is what put them in the hole.

Fans should blame themselves when their team loses? I'd rewrite that one line.

2G 1A in 5GP. He has created offense. Just, not as much as we'd like.

Again, we're 10 games into the season. I wouldn't start panicking just yet. Especially when he's on pace to score about 50 thus far.

This place was toxic as all hell when this team was a contender.

It’s gonna be a long season for some of the faint of heart mental midgets here.
