If there's one thing I can rely on it is that Seamus Casey will not let me down

I still have a good laugh about the 2022 Draft. Various Montreal fans were trying to rationalize that Dvorak+Anderson+lesser picks could get them back into the top 4 so they could get Slafkovsky and Shane Wright.

Right before Seattle picked at #4, Bettman announced a trade (Romanov to NYI, Dach to MON) involving Montreal. I let out a good sigh of relief + laugh as I was momentarily fearing Kent Hughes had pulled it off.

And then maybe you need this video for the second reaction video to make sense:

I’m a little surprised his d-zone retrieval rate is low, you think that’d be a big part of his role. Who’s his usual partner?

EDIT: Well i guess if his carry exits are average but his carry entries are well above average, he’s clearly not the one tasked with breaking out of the defensive zone.

Casey was drafted (on July 8 2022) at 5’10” and 173. He’s 19 years and 6 months old.

Lane Hutson was drafted at 5’8” and 158.

Despite having the most discussed growth plates in hockey, at 19 years and 5 months old Hutson is…

At the IIHF U20 Championship in December Hutson was listed as 5’9”/1.75 and 154lbs/70kg.

I doubted the IIHF numbers then, and I usually don’t, because his weight was so low (and there was so much hullabaloo over his alleged growth) but these seem realistic now as his mid-season measurements.

It’s going to be fascinating to watch this little waterbug go at it in the NHL lol.

This was one of the many Hutson size posts I had to chose from to announce he’s grown! Congrats slightly not-so little fella!

IIHF hasn’t listed anything yet, and it will be fun if their numbers are different, but here’s the two year US Hockey rosters.

Sam Rinzel is also pretty lanky, someone send him some steaks and protein shakes or something. It’s not body shaming if they’re professional athletes and won’t see it. (At least that’s what I tell myself.)

PART TWO:

After I wrote this out I wondered if these measurements weren’t just the same from their college roster.

Son of a Bitch.

I then checked the others, and they were all the same as their college rosters, except

All four of their players don’t match. Wacky!

Minny have Chelsey an inch taller and Snuggerud an inch shorter just to make it interesting.
Oliver Moore is 180 here vs 194 (seems like a major discrepancy).

So maybe Minnesota just sucks at measuring or more volatility sized players?

If the Gophers were the only ones to differ this might make some sense but no, we can’t have that.

One of the three OHL players measurements is different!!! It’s true. Pretty sure to just annoy me personally.

At this rate Hutson might be 6’2” by the time he makes the NHlL. He’s definitely going somewhere between first and earlier in a redraft
