Does a great job of solving the problem of having Dougie, Nemec, and Marino on the right
Maybe an overreaction to one exhibition game, but I wonder if he really could be a guy that takes shifts at forward and D? Brendan Smith has done it in his career but more as an energy forward/goon. Casey might have the skill to actually be productive.

IIRC he played forward up until like 16 anyway so he’s only been a D for a few years.

Now try Hughes at forward!
Not sure that would work as well.

The thing with Casey is he’s probably one of the few D that could actually possibly transition to forward and be just as successful. Great hands, edgework, and shiftiness in tight spaces makes him so hard to contain.
Only issue is that he’s lacking really high-end speed for a small forward.

Oh and apparently he actually played forward until like 16 and might’ve even commited to Michigan as a forward.

Wendel Clark is a perfect example. Drafted first overall as a D and then played wing

I think he is carrying a lot of hype right now but certainly a very good prospect. If Scouching numbers are correct, he already possesses very good gaping ability and a good stick which should serve him well. He still needs to prove he can get the puck below the goal line.

You hope that you have another Adam Fox in the works but I will be patient until I see him play in the playoffs against good teams.
