I mean, it's so obvious that we 'defend' better by keeping the puck up ice, and that we do the latter by shooting the puck (on net) whenever there isn't an obvious pass to make.

That's why we can play such an obviously good game as a whole, while Panarin could have his 'worst' game. That was the one line of four trying to pick corners and set up tap-ins. That 2 on 1 where Fast passes, puck comes back to him off the d's skate, and he immediately tries the same pass only to lose the puck... summed up the Rangers season with the exception of this game, that one Nashville game, and that first Tampa game.
 
Putting on some big boy tanking pants lately. For all the bright spots the players collective squeeze out, there's too much to cover up with this system and special teams coaching to win consistently and convincingly. It's always something. 3 games in a row where goaltending hasn't been .950 and Zibread hasn't been dominant and bam, we look about as good as NJ does.

One of the biggest overreactions I’ve seen. I get it. They lost a heartbreaker. But they played a great game and should have won.

I don’t blame the refs for hating Quinn at all. He’s a nobody and he’s so completely unprofessional back there arrogant cursing insults it’s embarrassing. He should be fired and soon.
 
Just imagine even if they just got 3 points on this shitty trip they would be what 4 points behind the flyers with a game in hand?
 
I don't get it, we lost, but we actually did play well. I'm bummed, but give me forty-one games more of that team over a another 55pt Panarin half and I'll happily make the trade no matter what our record ends up being.

This trip has been Panarin and Zibanejad’s worst this season. Absolutely putrid jobs on the powerplay. PUTRID. They were bad all around this trip, did not do enough.

Good thing the seasons over now, I'd say they need 1 more blue chipper to really put them over the hump in the future. Not excited for them to get swept in the first round had they made it anyway.

Its not about this one game.

But the season is over. They are 7 points from a WC spot and falling.

Please, spare me the BS comment about overreacting, especially the magnitude of my overreaction. The team is a f***ing mess. They are falling apart right in front of our eyes. What I said is a safe bet. When you aren’t making the playoffs the season is indeed over.

Well you’re not going to get one since I didn’t say that at all. I literally said it was one of the best team team games they’ve played all season.

If they can play any semblance of this type of game consistently, they’ll be skyrocketing in the proper direction.

This is a bad hockey team carried by a few players. Embrace the losing, it may be our last chance to get a premium draft pick in the foreseeable future. A guy like Lafreniere or Byfield would help raise the chances of this rebuild being successful so we don't end up stuck in the dreaded middle.
