The diaper line makes it easy to make metaphors for headlines when they play like you know what

You know genuinely nothing about coaching =)
What does this even mean? Is this to say fans are so unintelligent and naive that unless they have coached a professional franchise or even at a junior level that they cannot come to their own conclusions of when the coach of the team they follow, should be fired? Is that what you’re saying? Because if so, what are we all doing here on a message board? Or following a sports team period?

DQ deserves whats coming. This team does not perform for him. They make too many mistakes. I have not been one of the posters that is ready to throw him to the wolves because its not all his fault. Certainly isn’t. I place a ton of blame of shitbag Lindy Ruff. That guy should be home enjoying retirement. But at a certain point when the team is not getting better, players make the same mistakes, its time for a change. This team has been their own worst enemy. They have cost themselves 5-8 points in the last month. Crucial points. Time to go.

This is why a real rebuild was always avoided. Fans have no patience at all.

No You basically taking my user name was a trash take.

What I said about Quinn is spot on. He’s embarrassing himself. And he hasn’t earned the cred to get away with it.

you can’t be serious on a user name. Do you own Kovalev’s name? What the f*** are we talking about???

As for Quinn we can agree to disagree. I would admit, interaction with NHL officials is not my area of expertise...and I happen to like Quinn a lot, so my view of this situation will be biased.

What does this have to do with the rebuild? The team is regressing under this coaching staff. Players are making the same mistakes. These young players are not learning, they are not learning how to play within a team structure that can produce results. That is a problem. This team, with better coaching would be in a wild card spot right now. 7 points behind the last spot. They have almost forfeited that entire amount of points with not ensuring the “loser” point over the last month. And that was because of poor team structure. That is on the coaching staff.

You can win hockey games, make the playoffs, and not be abandoning the rebuild. They are not mutually exclusive. There is talent and potential in the lineup. Yes, DQ has not been given a full group of forwards but he also has not enforced a team structure that emphasizes strong defensive play. That is a problem. He was hired with the premise that he is a coach that demands effort and a strong work ethic. The team does play hard. So if DQ had some sort of team structure and philosophy around defense, I am sure the players would respond to him, but it just doesnt appear he does.

Sure last night they played “better” but anything would be “better” than the AHL level quality defense they had been playing. Are they going to play that tight moving forward? I dont have the confidence it will consistently hold up.

And for the record I like DQ. I do. I like his demeanor, I like how he carries himself with the team and the media. He says a lot of the right things, but it is not showing up on the ice. The team defense, the philosophy needs to change.

Part of a rebuild and playing a lot of young players is patience with the ups and downs of developing players. Young guys make mistakes. When you have a lot of them that’s a lot of mistakes. Impatience causes teams to give up on players like Mika before they have a chance to break out.

If that line is called the Diaper line then what do you call the 4th line and D? :skeptic:
The Rangers had a line of all 1-2 year old toddlers earlier in the season. You don’t remember? There was, I believe, Li’l Milan, “the Enforcer”, Dougie, “the Distributor”, and Paco, “the Sniper”. It was a well-balanced line - in theory - but they didn’t actually know how to skate or even use a toilet - thus the “Diaper Line” monicker. DQ loyally stuck with them as long as he could but then against the Caps Tom Wilson got all offended by Li’l Milan “givin me duh evil eye” and beat the child to death. (Got a three game suspension I think) and that was the end of that experiment.
