(2) BOSTON BRUINS AT (3) TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS – GAME 4 AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – BRUINS LEAD 2-1
Patrick Marleau
’s two-goal performance helped Toronto defend home ice on Monday, as the Maple Leafs topped the Bruins, 4-2, in Game 3 to cut the series deficit in half. Marleau became the oldest player in franchise history to score a playoff goal, and it marked his ninth career multi-goal game in the postseason, which is second-most among active players (Sidney Crosby – 10). Toronto’s defense held the combination of Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak and Brad Marchandto zero points, while second-year standout Auston Matthews recorded his first goal of the postseason.

Cassidy needs to be in the refs ear all night about the running interference on the forecheck. It’s helping the leafs get clean out of the zone. First two games they were coughing up the puck left and right. There was more than a few times were the second D was purposefully bumping the forechecker to slow them down.
