Man do I feel for shesterkin tonight. The 3 goals are just absolutely nothing u can do as a goalie. Just painful. Friggen lindgren im amazed at what he did. That was a killer.

Quinn needs to go back to igor tomorrow

I’d go

lafreniere strome digiuseppe third line for a bit

I agree with your idea but im hesitant to break up that 3rd line right now as its the only consistent thing we have up front. I dont think swapping players in and out with Kreider, Zibanejad, Strome and Panarin is gonna get their legs moving, they are slow starters and it appears this is gonna take some time for them to get into game shape unfortunately.

I agree...he needs to play again. I also think Deangelo needs Lindgren, Smith plays with Trouba and Miller and Fox.

The game was not overly difficult for him either. He might have come out a bit too far on the last goal but it probably wouldn’t make a difference.

That would be Adam Fox.
KM had his best game last night, not doubt, but he isn't nearly at Fox's level yet. Why would anyone expect him to be?
Didn’t say he was at his level. I just feel the way he’s played in all three zones has been really really good. Miller and Fox have been our best players no doubt.

Blueskirts being blueskirts....a few key hits and this team steps it up and Laf would be more involved . Chytil and KK /Miller looked good with and without the puck last night . I'm not sure if Kreider would survive or thrive under Gallant. DeAngelo gets a pass last night...some rust on him but he should be starting EVERY PP ....that is a no brainer . Strome /JJ/Quinn....well.....what more can one say . Chytil moves up....and Strome moves down ? Buchnevich snakebit and they will soon go in .

Did we watch the same game? Panarin at 70% still did more than most of our players. He still provided many opportunities for his linemates. He could have easily had 3 assists and you guys would be praising him.

I’m honestly floored. I don’t know what games some people are watching or what their expectations are. With a bit of a puck luck him and Buchnevich could have easily had 2-3 more points each.

BTW, The contrast of the final two shots of the shootout was painful to watch. Letang's goal was so beautiful (seriously as good as it gets - quick deke high backhand) and then Tony basically skated into the goalie and didn't really get a shot off.

I'm not a fan of our offense when Panarin and Mika are on at the same time. We can have two PP units that are more effective collectively than this burn out method.d
You hit the nail right on the head with this one brother. Rangers have more then enough talent to run 2 equally deadly PP’s. They have 2 guys in fox and DeAngelo who are excellent from the point, to quarterback them. With the amount of talented offensive personnel the rangers PP should be top 5 in nhl. Strome needs to be replaced with a left handed shot on the first. I don’t care who it is. Buch LaF kakko but pick 1. And for god sakes Quinn stack the talent on these to units

First thing that comes to mind is the breakaway that Strome botched with a lame ass writer

I think my main issue with Panarin is year has been general sloppiness here and there. At the same time though this might be more the norm going forward as he literally could do no wrong last season.

We must have because he was a turnover machine and wasn't fast enough to beat anyone. Btw we aren't paying him 11 mill to be 70%, especially on a team this young.

Not concerned with his point totals, plays that were easy to him last spring because he was moving faster have become forced turnovers. All our top players need to get moving, i blame a lack of preseason but at some point the excuse fades.

Oh my God that "breakaway". I have held my tongue on Strome...but there is NO QUESTION that if there was another ranger within 30 feet he would have 100% passed that. If we had that miked up we would have heard "here you go, you can have this...I don't want it"

I was so pissed.

I love Mika but I'm starting to sour on his ability to stay healthy, are we gonna give him a 6 or 7 year deal after this? Maybe with PLD available its time to consider him as his long term replacement. It would definitely not make us better right now to trade one for one but it would down the road for sure. Id prefer Strome or Deangelo ++ went back but if Laine is available the plusses would have to be huge.

For posters saying Panarin hasn't been good he still has 5 points in 4 games playing with Strome. Just saying.

So what, he hasnt been good. Neither him or Strome have been, neither is helping the other so while its cool on here to bash Strome, Panarin isn't helping him either, thats why Buch landed on the line to try and spark it. Panarin is always gonna pick up the odd point here and there but he isn't being paid to be a wallflower. The turnovers yesterday were really bad and hes supposed to be insulating the kids but our 3rd line is bailing his line out.

Smith needs to come in for JJ next game.
This is pretty much blinking in red lights for DQ to see. At what point do the players voice their opinion to make this happen? This one move has the potential to balance and settle the entire defense corps, everyone and their mother knows it, and yet we sit here knowing it’s not going to happen.

That play last night where JJ fumbled the puck at the top of the slot was crazy. NHL players don’t f*** that up. They just don’t. He looked like a high school player there. His deficiencies in the defensive zone are well established, but when the guy is a net negative in the O-zone too... jeesh.
