There doesn’t need to be an extreme, bringing players in from the outside doesn’t need to be aging, declining, etc. types. If you know what to find which Hextall didn’t you can improve the team in the now without mortgaging things. There’s a lot of undervalued players in this league. The problem was Hextall was part of the group undervaluing said players.

Interesting. I guess it is an oversimplification to say youth for vets is the sole option.

I think @Ghosts Beer is right though - if the Flyers had been able to draft a goalie in the past ten years the other shortcomings would not be as obvious.

The goaltending and PK aren’t on them.

I would say the PP isn’t either considering we have Haks college hire still running it and the PP has been largely amazing in the past with the same or lesser players. PP is as systems dependent as a PK is too.

I knew this shit would happen as soon as Hak was fired. People would get satiated and forget all the other problems, which is why I always said it needed to be Hak and Lappy fired and replaced with good coaches (meaning, not Gordon). Instead, shit went down like I thought it would. Hak goes, people get happy, people forget all the other issues that should’ve been fixed and get impatient and reactionary again.

We’re playing our f***ing fourth string 20-year old prospect as our starter, Lappy is still here, Knob is still here, Gordon is our interim, AMac is still here, Myers is still in the minors, Lindblom and Konecny still get trash usage. What the f*** do people expect? Hak out is literally the only needed change that was made. Then they changed a bunch of shit that wasn’t an issue.

I’ve only watched for like five minutes but our 20 year old prospect fourth string goalie let in two extremely soft goals to start the 2nd. I didn’t see the 1st goal, but I saw a poster say it was bad.

So even though literally all the goals against are on our 20 year old prospect fourth stringer, expect some overreactions.
