I’m worried it will force a bad trade. It may push a Myers recall, though, which I’d be ok with.
One thing about Hexy - you knew he wouldn’t panic.

I think we are Trusting the Process.

Simmer Jake Gudas Raffl Farmer Weise all core regular pieces, you can’t keep this garbage together.

Pp sucks
Pk sucks
Slow team, not physical,

It can’t always just be coach and goaliez

I wouldn’t call any of those guys, aside from Voracek, core pieces. Simmonds was like a couple years ago.

PP and PK are systems-reliant things. When you keep the leagues worst PK coach for years on end with no consequences it is the coach. When you have a top PP go to a bad one at the same time your worst head coach ever hires an unproven college coach to run it, it’s probably the coach. When you fire the head coach but keep the assistants on, it might be the coaches.

When your first three goalies are all injured (well, first and third now) and you’re playing your 20 year-old prospect who’s posting a sub .900, it’s definitely the goalies. You genuinely can’t argue it’s not. This very game every goal I’ve seen has been extremely soft.

This is a relatively young team, so it shouldn’t be slow. That’s a system thing if they are slow. Physicality really has nothing to do with anything when most of the best teams in the league are young and small. Tampa and Toronto specifically.

When does this team compete? I am not saying make a reactionary trade. But when is the point that a self assessment is finally made that this core isn't good enough?
When the core isn’t being f***ed over by non-core problems.

The goaltending and PK aren’t on them.

Keep finding reasons to blame this mess on something other than goaltending.
Id blame it more so on the high energy. We get to corners too fast and everyone passes it to Hart. I see too many mistakes around the bench. Arm throwing, leg jumping. Equipment seems too tight, If we see improvement there I think we can get better quickly. Giroux needs more consistency as a leader, don’t like his body language after goals. Maybe swap Knob and Coots on the PP. He’s been kinda meh all year.

No his answer was just wait some more until it magically changed on it’s own.
Well, I think he was going to be patient and let the young fellows come up and stake their claims as time passed. As opposed to moving them for largely-spent veteran quick fixes.

I'm not advocating a panic move, but at this point I wouldn't mind a shakeup trade involving a core player, preferably Voracek.

I think you have a different definition of “core player” than most do.

To me, core player is the most important key players you build around. Those guys are just secondary players worth long-ish contracts.

Maybe wording is wrong. The regulars, other than G, some of the. Have to go, they are rotten.

There doesn’t need to be an extreme, bringing players in from the outside doesn’t need to be aging, declining, etc. types. If you know what to find which Hextall didn’t you can improve the team in the now without mortgaging things. There’s a lot of undervalued players in this league. The problem was Hextall was part of the group undervaluing said players.

Hextall was essentially the opposite spectrum of Homer. Things don’t need to be either or. There’s good GM’s out there that are way more active than Hextall was & aren’t any where as bad as Homer was.
