No one has addressed the obvious elephant in the room that is making Henrik Lundqvist a healthy scratch means a trade is imminent.

First reaction was:

Second reaction was : :help:

But seriously, i dont think we need to worry. AV said that Hank is nr 1 going forward. Seems strange to me if a trade was looming.

Non-issue. Henrik is not leaving the New York Rangers. He knows that, they know that.

Vehemently disagree with this... its 50/50 right now, and has been. If he wanted to resign, and was truly dead set on it, we would have seen an extension already. But we havent, and that alone shows me some doubt.

If the Rangers think Talbot can be a perrenial Vezina candidate, fine, than move Lundqvist at the dead line for some prospects. But dont ***** and moan after fans realize Talbot isnt a perrenial Vezina candidate who carries the team season after season.

If you dont think Lundqvist takes it to heart that he isnt starting IDK what to say. If he doesnt think he is getting treated the way he should, or he doesnt think this team can win it all, Id say there is a solid chance he signs elsewhere, and the Rangers would then be stuck with Talbot starting 60+ games a season, which is a HUGE gamble. Whether Sather is willing to take that gamble is another story.

What else is he going to say? He is the face of the franchise with a big salary. He is being PC. Can you imagine what would happen if he came out and said otherwise? It would be another Vancouver media disaster which was a huge distraction for the team. Who knows what he is genuinely thinking.

Haha, its called negotiation. It will be done, this is part of the process. He's not going anywhere.

Been away for some days, glad to see everything is as usual here hahaha

Well if AV thinks otherwise then he is just plain stupid and has no right coaching hockey teams.

Love me some Cameron Talbot.

Once again, time to kick ass and chew bubblegum.

It isn't a controversy. Tortorella started Biron twice in a row once when he was hot.

You ride the hot goalie. Especially at a time when Henrik has Olympic games to play and hasn't been at his best.

Hank is normal himself, i.e. slow after Thanksgiving perennially. No goalie can play top notch all season. Lundqvist will be at his best end of Jan before Sochi. So it is all the same all over... The only difference is Lundqvist have never had a better than him back up. Now he does for short while.

And Talbot won't be this confident all year.

Last time Biron started 2 straight, Henrik came back on fire. I have confidence in him. I am just really pleased we have gotten quality out of our backup. Had Sather not made the gutsy move and promoted this unproven kid, waiving an established veteran backup, we would not be in as good a position.

Like starting Talbot.

Hank has been good but he has not been as good as we all know he can be. A little healthy competition should be nice.

When 1st period of tonights game is over, 1/3 of the season has been played. Just a useless fact :)
