I really don't understand people trashing Lundqvist. The team has played poorly in front of him and he's been completely normal (way above average) recently.

It's not about Lundqvist at all. It's about how well Cam Talbot is playing (or at least the Ws the team is piling up with him in net).

People are freaking out because Lundqvist is sitting out a game in an Olympic year.

It would be silly to speculate anything regarding goaltenders until we're pressed right up against the trade deadline and have maximized the sample size of games we've seen from Talbot.

It's ridiculous. Talk to me when Talbot has 20 wins and has maintained his .944 sv %. It's not going to happen. And if it does, GREAT.

You call his game against Tampa Bay completely normal? If anything, that game showed us all that Talbot should be the starter of this team.

Talbot is playing ridiculously well right now, run with that until he comes back down to earth.

The only controversy is the one that exists amongst the fans and media. Within the organization everyone knows who the number one is.

Some athletes never win championships. Life isn't all about winning a championship. He plays hockey for a living, he loves it with every fiber of his being. But at the end of the day, its just a sport.

Some players never win championships. That is true. But if you think that they look at this as "just a sport" you are kidding yourself. These guys dedicate their lives to this profession. They give up quite a bit throughout their early years to be trained NHL'ers. For them, it's their lives, for you and me it's just a sport.

A majority of his life will be AFTER hockey ends. He's not going to uproot a city he calls home, move his wife and child, and his entire way of life (and theirs) to go to a 'contender'.

Players uproot their families all the time in an effort to win it all. He uprooted his family once already by coming across the pond. Think he wouldn't move to another state if it provided him the best chance of winning? Foolish if you believe he won't.

As long as he is on the team, they have a chance to win it all. He believes that, and barring some unforeseen circumstances, the New York Rangers should be a relevant team always in the playoff picture as long as he is here playing.

Sorry, but the Rangers as currently constructed WITH Lundqvist do not have enough to win it all. Being a PO attendee and having a legit shot at winning are as different as night and water. Rangers will make the PO's thsi year. As currently constructed, the Rangers will be a 1st or 2nd round out. And that's with Hank playing like Hank can play. They are way to short on scoring.

Brian Leetch and Mike Richter had a conversation overlooking the city skyline a few years before 94' and Mike said to Brian…"Could you just imagine what it would be like to win it all?, here…in this city."

And there's nice skylines all over the country. What made that time more special is the duration between cup wins. Damn right it would be special again today, but not nearly as close to importance or meaning as 1993-94. The feeling behind that cup win can only be duplicated by watching the Leafs hoist the cup. They are fast approaching the Rangers and currently stand at 45 years since a cup appearance let alone win.

He wants to win in New York. No better place to win a championship. That is the challenge.

Said the fan of the New York Rangers.

Replace the city in your sentance with any city home to an NHL team and all the fans will say the same thing.

The bottom line will be if the Rangers offer him similar or more than any other team.

If Pitt traded Fleury and offered Hank 7-8 million per season for 6 years. I have no doubt in my mind that he would go there and I wouldn't blame him one bit.

Winning a championship in ANY sport in New York is bigger than anywhere else.

A parade down the canyon of heroes?…nothing competes with that.

Hank is here, and will be here for the rest of his career. The team is built around him. He will be paid handsomely and we will go to war to try and bring a cup home with him as our #1 goalie for the next 5-7 years.

a message has been sent!, cam plays well 2nite lundy will have alot to think about

Is 2 games over .500 too much to ask for? Next two games have to be wins. Winnipeg and Buffalo. Start a streak please.

When 1st period of tonights game is over, 1/3 of the season has been played. Just a useless fact :)

And we haven't gone to OT once if I recall right? There is no middle way for this team.
Good thing is that if they can stay above 0.500 all the way, they might very well end up with a cup:)
