GM Jeff Gorton " Hey Dave it's Jeff, tremendous win tonight! You're doing a helluva job!"
David Quinn " Thanks Jeff."
GM Jeff Gorton" Yeah now could you start winning a little less; I've got a plan and you're kind of screwing it up."

It`s just one draft year @Lone Ranger - they still have 1 st + a conditional 1st/2nd from Tampa if they fail to win the cup this year, and if Rangers somehow get into the playoffs this year which is maybe too early. However you can see it positive from a different point of view - and the youths in Chytil need a really good 1st NHL season if that is going to happen. But it could happen since both Kreider & Zib have a really strong season so far.

Kadri is a player you hate if he’s not on your team, and love if he is.

The Andersson debate harkens back to the toughness debate that raged on here a few years back.

I’m a firm believer that toughness isn’t just fighting, it’s a state of mind. Andersson person does that to me. He’s a guy who might have one or two fighting majors a year, but he’s got snarl. He’s got a “screw you” attitude and that’s something this team has been missing for far too long.

Would you say he has the snarl of competition, that "screw you attitude" that looks upon silver medals in utter disdain? Is Quinn on the bench yelling "LOOK AT YOUR ENEMY LIKE YOU LOOK AT A SILVER MEDAL, LIAS!!!"

Kreider is a guy who has gotten into his own head quite a bit.

I’m not going to lie, I don’t think the captaincy is the way to go.

There’s a tendency to want to elevate a guy into that role when he’s performing well and hitting his peak as a player, but actually being the captain as opposed to having a voice in the lockeroom and being a leader is a very different beast.

We’ve seen that many times over the years on this team — the desire to “push” a guy into that role. Leadership isn’t necessarily defined by the letter on a Jersey, and that suits some guys pretty well.

You want a captain who can read the vibe of the room, feel the rhythm of the game, set the tempo for the team, and hype up a crowd. This obviously describes DJ Zibanejad to a T. or a Z.

I would kill to have a player like Kadri on this team. Dude is an absolute piece of shit. Did you see any of the Skarks-Leafs game last week?

Funny that you guys mention Kadri, after watching that game, and Tkachuk driving the Oilers batshit during the recent BOA, I was going to say Gorton needs to add some grease to his rebuild checklist. Kassian was like a mad dog, I think he would have tried to kill Tkachuk if the refs didn't intervene; dude was actually really lucky Tkachuk got his arms up while Kassian threw him down, would have smacked the back of his helmet-less head right into the ice.

I think it’s a cautionary tale to take things in stride because this year has been pretty weird and there’s not as much separating the bad from the good as there is in years past.

And as an older poster, it’s probably based on seeing this board go from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows within a short period of time. It’s not a pretty sight when that happens.

Lulz @Edge thinkz dis team ain’t 4 real...

U need 2 educate yoself cuz if u haven’’’t been watchin lol we winnin many since october?

U one of them #haterz who think we cant win. Well if you educated yoself u would know thingz happen all the time you didn’t know?

I think win or lose, there will be some exciting hockey and some great moments.

I don’t know how many people are old enough to remember, but in the early 90s, the Rangers were a younger, emerging team with some impressive organizational depth. We’re probably pretty darn close to that kind of depth now, almost certainly if the next 7 months results in additional prospects via trades and/or the draft.

There’s a hunger that comes from that kind of team. It’s strange but you could have a team that finishes with a top 10 pick but captivates you all season, and have a playoff team that doesn’t particularly standout over the long-haul.

But a lot of the kids have a certain mentality and that mentality is being cultivated and supported by the coach. That alone is, if nothing else, compelling.

Please tell me we are going to trade all if this for a 29 year old Mark Messier!!!

Most fans on here probably would have thought the following statement would have been an exaggeration a few years ago but "I am really gonna miss Kevin Hayes if he gets traded". Guy was being called lazy and a goof and its become quite obvious he's the opposite. His 200 ft game has improved by leaps and bounds and we know that is not an easy thing in this league to do unless you are mentally strong and dedicated on /off the ice.

Man...is he going to be an albatross, lazy sack of shit if he gets a huge contract this summer anywhere he goes.

Listening to those announcers was brutal...

"Shots are even and the Rangers are up 4 goals but the Isles are really outplaying them and doing everything right."

I dunno, I really enjoy listening to announcers of losing teams trying to desperately spin things.

I haven't seen anyone mention it, there has to be a gif of it somewhere.

After Chytil's goal, him and Lias were on the bench and Lias mock burns himself on Chytil's stick. Indicting how hot/on fire he is. It was awesome and a peek into how much of a team this group is becoming.

They show it right at the end of the NHL.com video for Chytil's goal. That was great.

This team has played well in all but I think 2 or 3 games this year. They're in every game, they're making great plays every game.
This has been consistent for 22 games. Even from the first few games they were playing top teams extremely tough.

I'd be surprised if this isn't 2005 all over again.

When the goals stop coming and Henrik has his usual mid season dip, will they continue to bust their asses and turn it around. Will they grind out a few crucial wins? We'll see.

Yo, I can't watch that much hockey this season! Can we please not be this awesome?!

jk, gimme more, but I'm afraid we won't sell at TDL, thus have less picks for the draft.
