We need to find out who is Chicago's Grushnikov, the prospect they inexplicably covet
That was so weird seeing Calgary fans drool over that guy and touting his relatively high draft position, even though he had like 3 points in 50 games or something hilarious like that. Same thing happened with Nucks fans and Dickinson being described as an "elite shutdown 3C with scoring touch" all because some graph on Twitter said so

Drooling over a guy who looked very uninterested in playing hockey at the only dev camp I went to, shocker.

an offer sheet for Wyatt is an unfounded worry.
Current only 10 teams (more could technically re-acquire their own picks) have the picks for the compensation for 9.16m-11.452m bracket.

Of those 10 teams, some have even less space than we do, most would be gambling away Lotto picks for Wyatt (compensation at this level is 2 1st round picks, 1 2nd, 1 3rd) List of teams include; Chi, Buf, Mtl, Nsh, NYI, Phil, Det, Utah

There is technically 21 teams who could offer the 11.45+ compensation level which is 4 1st round picks.
a few realistically cannot as they don't have the space to accommodate such a signing and fill out their roster, but if any of them felt so inclined, considering a good bulk of them are also cellar/lotto teams. Good bye Wyatt.

Several of those teams also have upcoming quality RFAs (Buf with Peterka and Byram)

Not to mention RFA negotiations would get blown up by those teams pissing away 11.5m for a 70p center.
Using Buffalo, JJ Peterka would now have a 11.5m comparable considering his production is at a similar level.

Nobody wants to shoot themselves in the foot like that

Chicago could definitely offer him 11 mill per. And then the reason I'm linking all this to the TDL this year. If Dallas has to match 11 mill, changes their salary cap make up next year. Which is why I am aligned to the speculation of likely only FAs on Nills radar. Can't have bigger contracts in the way.

Chicago isn't going to forgo 2 or 4 first round picks, that almost certainly going to be top 10 for Wyatt

But yeah it's pretty obvious that Sakic has left the building over there. Was he just like, "I'm tired of winning?"

The Avs kinds went all in on the couple of seasons after winning the Cup. They've been emptying the draft cupboard. It turns out a mix of bad goaltending, Landedkog's knee injury, and their top Russian forward leaving the team two playoffs in a row kinda tanked their hopes of following up on the Cup win.

I think highly likely Dallas plays the Avs in the first round. I know they will probably still go after a 2nd line centre but at the moment moves like this I still think Dallas is stronger.

But, the Avs are who I'm watching alot this deadline because I think we're playing them round 1 ( without Miro)

Yeah i agree. Can't see Minnesota keeping their pace without Eriksson Ek and Kaprizov

I'd much rather play the Wild, but that's out of our control

We can hope

Winnipeg vs Canucks/Flames and Us vs Minnesota is the ideal Central bracket

Regardless of the matchups it will be a tough road, it always is in the West nowadays

Welp, Zito is making Jones to Florida work apparently

Aggressive front offices will make their teams better

At least it's not Vegas/Avs
