Blues are on fire coming out of the 4 nations break, I dont think Brayden Schenn will get traded now. They are 1 point back from the wild card spot. The canucks look like ass

Maybe it's a blessing in disguise because the cost to get Schenn would've been insane.

Dont believe everything the media says, the cost wouldn't have been that high....but your right St.Louis probably pushes for a playoff spot, same goes for Calgary & Utah

There's a few bubble teams in the east as well but i see Montreal, Philly, NYI selling

Haha I did, was it English?

Bobrosvky as C
Tkachuk as D
and forsling as G would be next step of your previous post

every position wrong in your post
Barkov = Center
Bennett = center
Lundell = center
Nosek = C
Rodrigues =RW
reinhart = RW
Boqvist = RW
verhaeghe = LW
luostarinen = LW
Tkachuk = LW

Ekblad = RD
Forsling = LD

Nylander RW
Schenn is a C

That's not what they had in the previous game slim.

Schenn can play winger dont get it twisted, who would complain playing with Marner & Matthews.

Nylander can play both sides, regardless is it really that big of a deal...im comparing lineups, those are the respected players they should be covering in a playoff series.

Haha omg ooo nooo, not Ekblad and Forsling on the wrong side🤣come on, having a bad day big guy?

Barkov never played an other position than center his entire NHL carreer...

Nylander played over 95 % of his carreer as RW, come on and same for Schenn as C

just for you line up of last game adapted with jones trade

Like i said, it was just looking like random position allowing to each player. From 20 player, 6 was right and 14 wrong and your entire post was about that...

Reinhart as C by exemple would be fine because he can play C but Barkov or Lundell who never playing any other position in NHL was just like what the f*** in my mind.

No hard feelings brother, i was just trying to post comparisons to show people that we have holes in the lineup that need to be assessed otherwise Florida will take us out round2.

Haha completely understand, that's my bad for posting the players wrong.

Every team having hole including florida and every team will still have hole after TDL...

I wonder if Vancouver moves Boeser (as is rumored), if they will move off other pending UFAs - namely Suter. Suter is an unsexy pick up, basically Jarnkrok but 5 years younger and still plays C. If Toronto can’t find a C I wonder if he could be had for a 3rd+C prospects like Niemela or Tverberg.

Players cap hit with 50% retention

Offense
Tolvanen-1.740M
O'Reilly-2.250M
Tanev-1.750M
Toffoli-3M
McBain-1.6M
Maroon-775K
Hathaway-1.19M
Gallagher-3.250M
Anderson-2.750M
Palmieri-2.5M
Bunting-2.250M

Defense
L.Schenn-1.375M
Gudas- 2M
Murphy- 2.2M
Cole-1.550M
Trouba- 4M(2M if a 2nd team retained)
Seeler-1.350M
Savard-1.750M
Oleksiak-2.3M
Larsson-2M (next year+ 2.625M)
Matheson-2.44M

These guys should be on the radar, realistically we need 2-players on both offense and defense to be a contender for the cup.

We aren't getting four players... realistically, that isn't realistic. We also aren't getting 50% retention on players with years of contract, also not realistic.

True but we need to compare our roster to the biggest threat and thats Florida....if we can fill the holes vs the Panthers we will have the highest chance of success, im confident we can beat anyone in the East besides them atm...and depending on how much depth the west adds there might be one or two teams on the same level and they have to win 3rounds for us to face them in the finals so yeah Florida is the team we need to look at.

If this seasons wasted man its going to be a tough offense, people fired, players traded, possibly Marner and Tavares walking.....yeah, its not looking good. And Florida threw us a dagger picking up Jones without losing a starter, plus the cap from Tkachuk we're in trouble if we dont make a big splash at tdl

We aren't getting four players... realistically, that isn't realistic. We also aren't getting 50% retention on players with years of contract, also not realistic.
Why is that not realistic to get four players? Trust me I've worked out the cap its possible, and we could get two of these players listed in one deal....so whats your reasoning behind us not being able to make 4 trades?

Most of the guys listed have one year left on there contact🤣or they play on teams rebuilding so retaining cap isn't an issue.

Lasttime i checked Jones was retained with term on a big contract🤣

Would you rather trade away Dewar, Timmins, Kampf, Reaves, Myers and picks this year to be a legit contender or stand pat/pickup mediocre players and keep our picks but increase the chance of Marner and Tavares walking in the off-season.

Getting four of the players listed is realistic if we want to win, otherwise be prepared for an early exit...that's reality we've been down this road how many times🤣and as mentioned before our main threat just keeps getting better so what's our solution luck🤣ooo buddy we're in for a ride if that's the case

Nice deal for Chicago. Got out of that big contract for an aging player, get another first and a goalie with solid upside who can play now

It's a great deal for both teams. And it's the type of creative thinking we need Tre and Shanny to learn from, but I'm skeptical they will

Bold moves lead to bold outcomes. Tinkering on the edges won't move the needle one way or the other

All of those assets can be moved during the off-season, and would likely be easier to do so given other teams have more cap space

I am probably in the minority, but I either want them to go all in or stand pat.
One of the things that kills teams is adding marginal upgrades for 2nd - 5th round picks year after year. It kills your ability to build up prospects.

Looking at the Dubas years, we lost out on a lot of swings by bringing in 'fine' players who obviously didn't make a real difference. Not including the bigger swings like O'Reilly or Foligno.

Giving up a:

3rd in 2022 -Aidan Thompson
5th in 2022
2nd in 2025
3rd in 2024
5th in 2025

For:
Ben Hutton
David Rittich
Ilya Lybushkin
Joel Edmundson

I know it isn't world altering, but it is death by a thousand cuts.

One thing this front office hasn't done is show an ability to be flexible or think creatively

It's all very paint by the numbers

Treliving is the reason we aren't adding four bodies.

Yeah but realistically they are the only assets we have to move for cap to upgrade and lets be honest on our current roster these are the guy's with the least skill per cap hit...its not about what we get back for them, there just a bonus for the teams we trade with.

All these teams have the capspace atm though so why wouldn't the deals be done now?

Let's be realistic those assests i listed what are you expecting back if moved during the offseason...its best to move them now, we still have tons of depth if there moved and id rather guys like Robertson, Pacioretty, Holmberg, Benoit and Hakanpaa on the depth chart while adding replacements for Timmins, Dewar, Kampf and Myers

Sorry man but that doesn't make sense, and i will come back on this comment if we stand pat and get washed by round 2.....thats bad management if we keep the guys listed not to mention an extra 4.2M in cap with Jarnkrok coming back....and we can send down Steeves and Knies until the playoffs that's another 1.7M

5.9M in cap to acquire three-four players and every guy on the list posted are huge upgrades to the guys being moved especially for there purpose.

Like Myers & Timmins wont be top 25 in hits or blocked shots....every defenseman i listed is, & around the same cap hit

Replacing Dewar & Kampf for say Gallagher & Tanev is hugeee in a playoff series vs Florida and winning the cup

Treliving is the reason we aren't adding four bodies.
🤣lmfao true
