That's a shame. I like Colton - I can see him as a mainstay on the blueline for years.Very low. Better odds the Leafs get Schenn.

I threw Faulk’s name out a little while ago. I think he would low key be a really solid addition to our blueline and someone who isn’t a rental either. The cost shouldn’t be very high, I’m thinking a 2nd, Timmins and prospect with 2 million retained on Faulk.doubt they move Parayko, but Faulk should be available.
Perfect upgrade over Timmins, can play top 4 if needed. 50% retention is a must, third team can help there.
I have been promoting bringing Seth Jones home to Toronto for a couple of years now.Jones is also 1 1/2 yr younger.
Why can’t Leafs get a good deal like the Jones deal, why does Leafs need to overpay for everyone.
There are a number of goalies they are younger than Woll, but that alone doesn’t make them more valuable.kn
Knight hes 3 year younger than Woll. 23 still pretty young for goslie
a 23 yo goalie = 20 yo foward in term of development
Knight value > Woll
I would rather use assets to bring Seeler and Oleksiak and still have assets and cap space going forward into 2025.I have been promoting bringing Seth Jones home to Toronto for a couple of years now.
Bringing him back to the city where his famous NBA Popeye Jones formerly played for the Toronto Raptors.
He would have been a massive upgrade to the Leafs defense now sadly he makes Florida a whole lot better.
It’s likely other GM’s - driving prices up after fans get excited in our market.I'm attributing this to Shanahan, but the trend of leaking who they're going for and who they will be giving up so that the fans don't overreact and have time to "get used to the idea of it" is such a BS move that it really spoils most of the surprise and intrigue of any trade or UFA event.
It's the same thing they've done with all the contracts.I'm attributing this to Shanahan, but the trend of leaking who they're going for and who they will be giving up so that the fans don't overreact and have time to "get used to the idea of it" is such a BS move that it really spoils most of the surprise and intrigue of any trade or UFA event.
Just look at JT extension/non-extension.It's the same thing they've done with all the contracts.
If it is, say, STL leaking all this stuff, then there's no trade anymore. It’s likely other GM’s - driving prices up after fans get excited in our market.
They have enough space by moving out Knight. How was Florida able to fit Jones in? Just because Tkachuk will be LTIR'd until the end of the season??
Oh wow, had no idea he had a $4.5M hit. I bet they really wish they moved him out last offseason and kept Stolarz at $2.5M. They'd be way better off and we'd be screwed if they went that route. They have enough space by moving out Knight.

Like that deal for the Panthers. The Blackhawks didn't do to bad either. Retaining for 5 years is a big chunk of money.
From the Treliving presser, it doesn't sound like they are interested in adding anyone big with term right now & doesn't sound like they have an apatite to add a "big name" as they think it doesn't always work out. Will probably be a 2nd teir C and a depth d-man for minor pieces.
He's not wrong from that sense. IMO I'm always fan of adding way before the deadline to give the player some time to adjust to everything. A lot of the time the deadline piece doesn't play the greatest.
You don't keep invisible Jarnkrok.Keeping expectations in check, he's on pace for 47 points, playing 17:37 a game. On the third line here, he's playing ~14 minutes a game. That production will likely drop some, probably just below the 40 point pace.

Panthers just showed you don't many assets to make a major deal and get retention.
I heard they need a goalie too, though.Someone is going to have to come off the roster... but they had room to begin with. They are just $1.1 mil over, with both of them on the roster.
It looks like they'll have enough cap room to sign Ekblad, and Bennett for next year, and fit them all under the cap too.
Spencer knight is a big piece. That’s like us trading woll or knies.Panthers just showed you don't many assets to make a major deal and get retention.
