Wow they got out of the Knight contract in the process too.

Still don't entirely understand how they do this with no one on LTIR and no cap space

Ah, forget moron Tkachuk hurt himself at 4nations

They can finally take Balinskis or whatever they were doing off the PP

Great, great deal for Florida. They rationalize their cap distribution out of the goaltending position and just have to give up a pick 2 years from now plus getting a quarter retained making it a fair number for Jones

This is why paying attention to Friedman speculation is worth it. He floated this as a potential move a while back like a month or more ago

Chicago obviously views Knight as a potential part of their future, guy is still only 23 years old.

We we're never going to be able to match a 1st and a young roster player like that, and that's if Chicago would have even sent him to a divisional rival for the same price.

For jones at 7 I would have traded a first and thought hard about Bichel. Jones would have solidified the top 4. For next 4 or 5 years now Chicago may not have accepted the same from dallas or been willing to retain the same. But i think nill is not even thinking of those players.

We’d be bitching about how bad he is in 2-3 years and call Nill an idiot for trading for him lol. Stars just need a solid bottom pair d man to replace Dumbass

Based on this list, most realistic option for us at this point is probably David Savard. Definitely seems like a likely option

Florida going back to the Finals I think. East isn't overly strong and they now have a balanced and strong defense to match their deep forwards.

Forsling-Ekblad
Mikkola-Jones
Schmidt-Kulikov

That's pretty dam sound. Hats off to their GM

Dallas likely has to give up Bourque or Bischel plus a first to get Jones.

I'm OK with deciding to not pay price, just slightly bummed Was starting to think Jones could happen

Another bottom pairing guy. The Ol Nill special. Something out of the bargain bin or nothing
He got us a PPG forward for a 1st. I guess that was a bargain? A very good one at that.

Happy we stayed clear of Jones shit contract for that price. Not sure how we match Spencer Knight without giving up Bichsel

I assume you're referencing Grandlund?
He's never been a ppg forward, ever in his career.
He actually overpaid, which makes it even funnier as he addressed a position that didn't need to be wasting his best tradeable asset for it.
We didn't need another 2nd line center, but it saves us from Brock Nelson so I'll take it.
The need coming into the season was a 2nd pairing d-man.
The need still is a 2nd pairing d-man

Savard probably isn't much of an improvement on Dumba at this point
