Terrible example, Frederic was a pending UFA. When fans first started talking about trading Frederic it was "it starts with a 1st" and now we're gloating about a 2nd + 4th lol

I don't know if Marchy needs an extension now. I can see him wanting to finish his career in Boston even tho this year has been a train wreck.
Still think this team healthy with a better coaching staff & without the Swayman drama could have battled for a wild card spot at minimum this year.
All for trading Carlo or Coyle though. But that'll be hard w/ the no trade/limited no trade

That's what he does. Everyone blames Swayman but it was him that did it giving them the keys.He better get this done because Bruins fans are getting tired of his act is a good bet .Sellers market standing pat about to miss playoffs is just mindboggling

Winnipeg made a couple of small moves but it appears they're not going to be able to fill their most pressing hole of needing a 2C.
Namestnikov has played admirably in the role given he's not really a natural center but they still need help in a big way there.
Not a good look when the teams in your division have depth there too with Colorado picking up Brock Nelson to play behind MacKinnon and Dallas having some combination of Hintz, Seguin (when he's back), Granlund and Duchene to match up against you.

So what about Marchand? I know you want to move him just like me but if his status as a UFA is the only reason Fredric was moved then there is no doubt Marchand is moved.
But it's not that simple as we know.

I mean Marchand can just say I don’t want a penny below what I make now and for 3 years. He literally can dictate the terms. If he was willing to take anything to stay a Bruin for life he would have signed already

I forgot about Vegas. I looked up what picks they have and they don't have a first until 2027 due to acquiring Hertl.
I think if Marchand is moved it's to LA. The Kings have their 1st for the next 3 years. That said, at this point I think he's signed.
I'm years and years into that take. Like maybe 6.

The Vegas team doctor is waiting for one of their players to sneeze so they can shove him on LTIR until the playoffs to make room for another trade.

I don't know if i would call it a failure. The two trades they made were clear wins, but at the same time i think i see where you're coming from.
It certainly feels like they should be doing more given the they're not making the playoffs, but then looking at their roster there's no one else they could realistically move outside of Marchand because teams generally don't like taking on term at the deadline.
I guess what I'm trying to say is i'm not quite sure how to feel. Basically just a "?" lol.
It's just f***ing weird.

I don't think Frederic was moved simply because he was a pending UFA. I think Sweeney & Frederic's camp had talks about a deal to stay and there wasn't close to common ground. Frederic wasn't part of the future of the team and was going to walk in FA anyways. Marchand is different. He's expressed that he wants to remain in Boston. He's still a productive player and the captain of your team.

The only things they had to do are Frederic, Brazeau, and Marchand.
I’m pretty happy with the returns for Frederic and Brazeau.
As for Marchand something has to give. Either extend him or trade him. You cannot risk losing him for nothing.

Minnesota is still an option for Marchand. Kaprizov is still out, and they can probably cheat the cap with LTIR usage

Hopefully Sweeney has two deals in place with Vages one for Marchand, but if he signs , there's another one for Coyle or somebody, but im really beginning to have my doubts.
The jets have made a couple minor moves,a lot of players im sure have them on their NTC/NMC
Sweeney is too pompous for a GM whose success hinged on inheriting Bergeron, Krejci, Marchand et al. I can count on one hand the impact players he's drafted and developed since taking over from Chia. Time to flush him and his conservative, borderline scared, approach to this job and build before Pasta's game declines
If Vegas is the only option i'd rather just re-sign Marchand. They have absolutely nothing in their system of value due to them constantly shipping pieces out.
