Teams are overpaying cause they think they have a shot at the cup now.

Prices coming back be less u ask me because they are trying to win Cup right now.If I had to guess, Sweeney reputation hurts him of taking less paying more.Teams wait him out thinking he will cave ,thus no movement.Anyhow regardless,he should have Marchand signed before deadline ends .He should have learned from Swayman situation that he caused so signing him should be expected by Bruins fans.

I don't agree with either notion here. You'll have teams that feel like they needed a Top 4 RHD to make a deeper playoff run after they fell short. You'll have teams that feel like they could have made the playoffs with a Top 4 RHD or a stronger 3rd line center.

Hell you'll have teams that are just looking to bring in guys because they feel like they can help their organization better than they were last year. In the off-season you don't have to bring in 3rd teams to manage cap issues.

Might need a New GM for the draft.

100% agreed with you here.

I would even go further and say this doesn't really fix it either because the options out there to pivot like say, Boeser, or Marchand aren't moving the needle comparing to what they gave up.

I'm rather surprised they're still in negotiations with Marchand. Surely he remembers what Bergeron, Krejci & Chara were offered for their end of career contracts. It's not likely he's going to to do better than that with the Bruins.

They're not trading Stankoven lol. He's the centerpiece of that deal and fits their style too well.

I would be more curious to see what they do with those firsts.

I think Donnie missed the boat on a seller's market, and if he does I think he should be removed.

He's delusional about this team's chances next year with that forward group.

As for Draft Day deals, Donnie's best work has always been the deadline. There was the Zacha/Haula swap but otherwise, his body of work over the summer (including free agency) has been poor.

He may have indeed. And if so, he hasn't learned on how to stock up on picks for futures, id think with him not finding a center to replace Krejci and Bergy for the last ten years, he'd want to add some futures in an attempt to finally fill that hole, if not for today but down the road.
