No one that good this year. We’re definitely taking a forward if we draft high.
Pretty sure Matthew Schaefer is a lock for the top 5. Potential of a top 2 D in the NHL. He is also one of the youngest player in this year. Is a shame he is a Left Handed Defenseman.

Micheal Missa is one of my favorites center prospect for the 2025 draft. 6’1’’,Good skater, good passer, it's especially his hockey IQ and his shot that impress me.Ok on the faceoffs, he would fill a big need for the Habs because Dach and Newhook are not center players so that would leave only Hage as a potential top 6 center. Because it will be necessary to fill this need for talented centers if we want a good team one day. Besides Missa, McQueen, Ryabkin, Frondell and Desnoyers would be the other candidates .

Any you guys familiar with Jack Nesbitt? Crunching some numbers tonight he could be good pick with Florida pick.

McKeens has him at 32. At 6'4, big forward. Noticed he's improving as season goes on. Had 4 goals in last 5 games. On pace for 42.

Could he be this years Greentree?

Here's my early, amateurish word and inquiries on these players based on Wheeler's rankings:

-Hagens should be #1 for now, but I don't agree with him being in his own tier
-Eklund is way too low based off what I've seen, guy seems like a safe bet to be a good mid-sixer with upside for more
-Haven't seen Frondell yet this year, but is he really a top 5 guy still? Genuine question for those who've seen games because on paper, I sense some delayed market reaction on this listing
-Want to see more from McQueen once he returns from injury; my impression is his size and 4 goal season opener were the perfect conditions for the anchoring bias, but 6th overall isn't totally unreasonable for now
-Martone, Schaefer and Misa seem like good bets for top 5 for now
-Ryabkin looked good in the MHL when watching him play against Demidov, what the heck's going on?

Edit:
-Wait, Carter Bear is in the second round? Really?

He had a difficult rookie season last year, but he's really taken off this season. He has all the tools scouts look for, if he can put them all together he's an easy 1st round candidate.

It would be nice if he could play in the AHl at 18. His only option are the NHL or OHL. He is also a late born. Is possible, he could be Semi NHL ready by next year.

There are rumors that this is something that might be addressed for the next CBA. Pandora's box is about to be opened with the NCAA opening its doors to CHL players.

By the looks of it we should be picking a RD with our first pick tbh.
Hensler is my pick.

Unless we get a top 5 again and one of Martone, Misa or Frondell being there, even Ryabkin might go before Hensler for me.

Then i'd take a RHD with our second pick
Trethewey could be a great pick.
Not sure about Mrtka though don't really like him.
I really like Fiddler though, if we get Florida's pick around #28 Fiddler would be my pick.

I think we're good with our LHD
Hutson and Guhle being our top 4.
Then Wifi, Struble, Engstrom, Trudeau, pretty solid there

Center is B+ with : Suzuki, Hage, Dach, Evans. Beck.

Wingers is A- with : Slaf, Demidov, CC, Laine, Newhook, Heinemen, Kapanen, Roy.

RHD is C- with : Reinbacher, Mailloux, Barron, Bogdan, Pretty sad tbh.
