You just went to number one on my HF poster power rankings

I would love Kim
Right now I have game 5 of the 1997 ALDS on. Wade Boggs is testing the very limits of the Yankee facial hair rule with his heavy stubble. Former and future Red Sock Mike Stanley having a great night from DH. Gene Michael and Bob Watson had a knack for acquiring professional hitters like Boggs, Stanley, and Raines. And I forgot Rey Sanchez was ever a Yankee.

Jaret Wright was hot stuff as a rookie, he was nails in all the post-season games that year, and they're comparing him to Bob Feller on the broadcast. He never recaptured that though. Was done in by some injuries by age 24, had a short resurgence in 2004 with the Braves, but fizzled out shortly after. Cleveland had a monster lineup and it always felt like a massive upset when the Marlins knocked them off, but in reality they were only an 86-win team that year and all their playoff opponents had better records than them. This is why I like watching old games, because the narratives created in your mind in retrospect don't always match what the prevailing narrative was in the moment.

So, maybe if the Red Sox can move Jansen to clear money under their ridiculous, seemingly self-imposed salary cap, there's still a chance to add Montgomery?

I'd probably do it.

Need to move out money to sign a single pitcher, meanwhile FSG throws $3B at golf and the Dodgers just dropped $1B on their baseball team. I truly loathe this ownership group. Also a friendly reminder that LeBron James owns the Red Sox.

I know I'm repeating myself, but how they can raise ticket prices after a last place finish and then go out and do absolutely noting to make this team better is a such a giant FU to the fans.

I never thought I'd despise an owner more than Jeremy Jacobs, but this guy has passed him and it's not even close.

Finish last, raise ticket prices and claim you have to clear salary to sign a mid rotation starter?!

at this rate they're gonna make John Fisher look like a good owner

Clear Salary?!?!?!

I don’t mind trading Kenley but it shouldn’t be done to shed salary

You trade him and you eat salary to increase your return

Agree

Remember when WPIX???? Came on with Rizzuto & Bill White in 80’s doing Yankees games

They had Rickey & Winfield & Mattingly but never won anything

Some of most entertaining baseball ever

Phil Rizzuto was hilarious- he would mess up so much but even a Yankees hater like myself learned to love him

He’d take off in 7th inning to beat traffic home - Classic

I didn’t know for years when he broke Lou Brock record he was imitating Ali when he said ‘I’m the greatest of All Time’

The leaving games early to beat the traffic is still one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard.

Billy Crystal once did a hilarious bit about it.

Red Sox are worth 4.5 B

Trade Jansen & make Whitlock closer

Sign Montgomery & Soler

You immediately get delusional shmucks like me believing and less bitching
