Boras just sucks and is an extortionist

Yesterday on mlb network long time GM Dan O’Dowd discussed signing guys this late & Mike Lowell from the player view so late

Montgomery already lives here

These guys signed win Boras but at some point it’s time

Majority of Boras deals are bad in retrospect for teams

He is going to miss 2024 with another ucl surgery but he’s been a pretty good reliever when his arm is healthy. This is a potential bullpen piece for 2025. Now do the same thing with Woodruff

Rickey used to stuff per diem envelopes into shoe boxes. When his daughters did well in school, he let them pick an envelope. His on-the-field achievements are outstanding, but so are his off-the-field stories.

New Comiskey is my least favorite park in the entire league (worse than Tropicana and Oakland IMO). It had the unfortunate timing where it was the last of the cookie cutters that opened right before Camden Yards revolutionized ballpark architecture and aesthetics altogether. The Trop may be objectively worse but New Comiskey makes me mad for being a cookie cutter relic that was obsolete two years after it opened.

These mockups are great, it mirrors a lot of Old Coniskey's charm with those RF grandstands and isn't entirely closed off and cavernous like the New Comiskey, leaving space for the backdrop of downtown Chicago. Love it.
 
Just asking, is it weird that I put on 80s and 90s playoff games on youtube in the background while I'm at work?

I remember reading about this guy after his big rookie season

He’s a plumber I think or was an apprentice and worked full time as one on off season

Remember when WPIX???? Came on with Rizzuto & Bill White in 80’s doing Yankees games

They had Rickey & Winfield & Mattingly but never won anything

Some of most entertaining baseball ever

Phil Rizzuto was hilarious- he would mess up so much but even a Yankees hater like myself learned to love him

He’d take off in 7th inning to beat traffic home - Classic

I agree with you 100% about Guaranteed Rate Field (or whatever the hell they are calling it this year). I also agree with you regarding the preliminary design renderings. That said, given the dysfunction in the Chicago City Council/Mayor's Office, I'd give this about a 5-10% chance of actually happening. Related (the developer who owns this land) has been throwing shit at the wall for a while now, trying to figure out what to do with this piece of land.

If by some miracle it does happen, Reinsdorf won't be alive to see it. I think the more likely scenario is that the White Sox end up in Nashville as some point.
