You understand he's been accused by other women, one of whom he apologized to, and that he's also, independent of all that, a heinous piece of shit multiple teams couldn't wait to get out of the clubhouse, right?

Until they take it to a court of law and can prove it beyond a reasonable doubt, they're just accusations. They aren't the kind of accusations anyone would want to be associated with, but accusations nonetheless. Furthermore, while Bauer is a tool bag there have been many a notorious shady individuals in MLB that have done things as bad if not worse and have been given a green light to continue playing.

Sounds like they’re not going to take a chance.

Of course they don't. Why would the Red Sox try and make a move that might actually help them win games?

It's hilarious to me that this ownership group keeps selling the fans on the future and having homegrown talent to win, yet everything they do is the exact opposite. They develop homegrown players and then let them walk over money. Duran is exactly what they claim to want. Homegrown, cost effective, young talent. Yet here they are trying to trade him. Why? So they can go and resign stiffs like Tommy Phan who suck and have no shot of ever costing any real money. People forget that these shitbags put Manny Ramirez on waivers where anyone could have claimed him, just because they hated paying him. And they did that BEFORE they every won a goddam thing.

At this point, I am done with these cheapskates who have no desire to invest in the baseball team. If I was given the choice between having the Red Sox owned by FSG or a Saudi oil sheikh, I'd take the oil sheikh because at least I'd know they would actually spend money to win games.

So we are stuck with a $16 M closer on a 70 win team ?

I'll just keep watching and supporting my Savannah Bananas. They give me a better and more watchable product than the current Red Sox. Until Henry sells the team, we ain't doing jack shit.

What an atrocious signing this has been. And it's getting worse from here on when they'll eventually need the DH-spot for Devers. I am sure Breslow tried everything in his power to get rid of Yoshida, but the other teams weren't up for it. The Red Sox have done such a bad job over the past 4 years that I am surprised they are not in an even worse position.

Next example. What a terrible draft-approach. Yes, pitchers are more volatile and are more prone to busting, but when they hit, it's significantly more valuable. And the value of a top 50 or even 100 pitching prospect cannot be overstated.
