What an atrocious signing this has been. And it's getting worse from here on when they'll eventually need the DH-spot for Devers. I am sure Breslow tried everything in his power to get rid of Yoshida, but the other teams weren't up for it. The Red Sox have done such a bad job over the past 4 years that I am surprised they are not in an even worse position.

Next example. What a terrible draft-approach. Yes, pitchers are more volatile and are more prone to busting, but when they hit, it's significantly more valuable. And the value of a top 50 or even 100 pitching prospect cannot be overstated.

Bloom ball is the gift that keeps on giving. Yea, yea he was the fall guy for Mookie but alot of the stuff under his control sucked too.

I have changed my expectations for this team for this season, thought they might be able to make a run at a wildcard spot, if we signed some decent starting pitchers and acquired a viable replacement for Duvall / Turner.
We will continue to be a sub 500 team , until the big three of Mayer / Teel and Anthony get here.
It will be interesting to see how our outfield shapes out. Will CR make the team out of traning camp? Will Duran stay healthy?
With a bit of luck, one of Whitlock / Houck or Winckowski will have a break through season as a starter.
A potential bench of McGuire / Dalbec / Reyes and Refsynder is pathetic.

I'm not a Sox fan, but I see a complete roster blow-up in the not too distant future.

This team will be at least 10-15 games out by July and then the fire-sale commences. Anything of value is gonna get moved for prospects, with Devers being at the top of the list. I'd be shocked if this roster isn't gutted like a fish by this time next year.

They are gonna erase the chalkboard, rebuild from scratch, and a good chunk of Sox Nation is gonna lose their shit. Think 2012-2014 Cubs.

So we should trade these guys so we don't have  any good pitchers?

Sounds like a brilliant plan

I have no problem moving relievers in their late 30s if it means getting stuff back. No reason to hang onto them, they’re not competing for the division next year.

Ok what are you getting back for relievers in late 30s? It's just another slap in the face to fans. They never had any intention of trying to compete this season.
