Red Sox/MLB 2024 Spring Training Part 4: - Ownership seems content with another last place finish in 2024

Totally fine with not bringing back Turner, he’s not a great roster fit given Yoshida should be primary DH. He will go down on the Beltre “List of players I love that only got a year here” though. He would’ve been tremendous to have in years where we cared about being competitive

Totally not fine with the off-season as a whole

A soon to be 30yr old pitcher whose never pitched an inning in the bigs and spent last season getting slapped around in AAA....FULL THORTTLE BABY!!!
Ok, I absolutely love this post - my post of the year in the early going. My reason for that is simple, unintentional or intentional I am not certain but, the title of this thread needs to be changed to the following immediately "FULL THORTTLE BABY!!!".

Now, I'm not sure the typo was intentional or not and I give the OP full credit but it absolutely represents what the Red Sox have done with this offseason...effed up their own plan.

FULL THORTTLE BABY!!!

For what it's worth, on Twitter yesterday, former Sox Assistant GM Zach Scott said that the Sox were convinced they had signed Turner in 2014, but the deal fell apart when Juan Uribe suffered an injury that opened the door for Turner to return to the Dodgers.

If the Sox had signed Turner, they would have passed on Pablo Sandoval.

Wow that’s wildly painful in hindsight

Let me guess, he plays 3 positions because he's not great at any of them and he strikes out a lot.
Historically he strikes out a bunch yes, defensively he’s solid though. Plays multiple positions to give himself a better chance at sticking in the bigs. Was a SS all the way up through AA

He is Worcester depth, hopefully this is the last we talk about him

100% not intentional lol. Just fat fingers and a small phone

It opens a real butterfly effect though. If Turner's occupying 3B, maybe Raffy goes instead of Moncada in the Sale deal (or maybe without the Panda fiasco and better results in 2015 they don't fire Cherington and he goes a completely different direction).

Infuriating. Absolutely infuriating. But John Henry can't face Red Sox media at a press conference. Sam Kennedy lecturing fans and content in his role of being Henry's lapdog.

I don't blame her as much as I blame the others. You think she likes golf?

As a woman, I love ALL sports. All of them. Except f***ing golf. My gosh. Its like watching paint dry. I can't stand it. I'm sorry.

Others can elaborate more (I think I remember @Fenway in the past sharing), but she is a piece of work to put it lightly. She controls Henry and inserts herself into the business side routinely. She doesnt care 1 bit about the Sox or the city, she only cares about money.

They all collectively suck and I'd WELCOME a complete sale of the team to someone who gives a damn about the team, and not other interests.

Imagine trying to market the team now. They are going to work for their money. They better hope they can bamboozle people.

They're hoping they sell the "Fenway experience" and not doing anything to make their team better.

Funny thing is: the Fenway experience is too expensive for normal families. So good luck with that

Butterfly effect I don’t change - they have the franchise best season in 2018 and everything would have been different- maybe better or worse but I’ll take the known

They are F’d unless they are playing at 550 or better pace
