Im not sure but didn’t Turner have a player option ?
Yes.

He essentially made 6 million for free by exercising it because there was a buy out, since he's new deal is the same as his player option with Sox.

Pretty evident he wanted to come back all along, just wanted a longer deal.

There's no good reason not to expect a full season from Trevor Story.

He was extremely durable in Colorado, and he successfully recovered from elbow surgery at the end of last season.
What are you talking about? He's only getting older and there were questions about his health when he signed here. He's gonna find the fountain of youth?

He's 31. He's not old by MLB standards.

Between 2017 and 2021, he played in something like 92% of all Rockies games. He was remarkably durable for a shortstop.

Yeah, the elbow caused him problems. He got it fixed... it wasn't an issue once he came back.

I'm excited about a healthy Trevor Story following a healthy off-season.

OK fair enough. I don't think there is anything to be excited about with Trevor Story.

Prior to Story's return, they were 29th in MLB for WAR from the SS position. In the six weeks he played, Story dragged them up to 24th, and that was after he got off to a horrible start at the plate.

If Trevor Story plays ~145 games this year, I think that alone could net the Sox 3-4 wins.

Part of my frustration is that the bad investment in Story has prevented them from doing other things because they are clearly tightening the budget. I know you still have hope for him but I just don't see it panning out. We'll see.

Red Sox better win because it’s going to be a shit show if not

Season ticket holders are not going to deal well with this

looks like they want Cora to leave

They can not possibly think they are going middle market in this fan base - they are going to get trashed and heckled in public

I can envision 15.000 empty seats weekdays in April-June & September

It’s a disgrace if this is the plan

People need to do a sell the team chant if they get 10 games under

Another guy who WANTED to stay and be here. Him and his wife loved it here.

Such a shame this organization is.
They are really becoming the Coyotes of hockey. No way do I support this team this year or until FSG spends some money on them, I live right between Portland and Manchester, looks like a lot of Double A games and some NECBL games in Sanford.
