Necas hasn't demanded a trade as far as I know.
"DeBrincat — it should be noted — really did nothing wrong here. He never demanded a trade. He never threatened to hold out. He simply used his contractual status to his advantage"

Ian Mendes-The Athletic

I described that above, both secondary players, both cant drive their own line, both aren't great defensively.
Yes, one with a better history of point production (Debrincat) and at the same age and same contractual situation are looking to get moved.

Debrincat returned 25th overall, Kubalik, 4th, and an AHL prospect.

When you say you aren't signing long term, you are basically demanding to be traded. Has Necas said he won't sign long term? Not that I've heard. If it comes out he is demanding a trade and will only sign with specific clubs, then i'll lower my expectation on a trade.

Yes, so the same exact situation at Necas.

If he wants to stay and Carolina will pay him the whole topic is for nothing.

Deflect what? Your regurgitated shot at me?

Why are you even so obsessed about Necas? As if he's the only answer the question: who can play with Bedard next year? Jfc dude.
You used punctuation as a scapegoat for your terrible ideas. You took the shot saying "This guy just doesn't get it." and I responded.

He was also playing with Patrick f'n Kane and on the PP1, while the other isn't playing with anyone of note and on PP2. Over the last 2 seasons. Debrincat has 133pts (54G) (0.81pts/gp), and Necas has 124pts (0.78pts/GP) (52G)

Debrincat is a secondary player, just like Necas, both questionable on the defensive side, both not carrying their own line, and both not worth what they make/will make.
So Kane is a notch above Aho sure, but Burns is light years ahead of any D DCat had running a PP in Chicago. Do you think maybe Brind'Amour knows something about hockey and there is a reason Jarvis and f'n Michael Bunting (until the TDL) were getting more PP1 time than Necas? It could never be that DCat is an actual PP1 guy on a good/decent team and Necas is not because that would interupt an absurd comparision that somehow Necas has achieved similarly to DCat to warrant the same return in a hypothetical trade.

I wouldn't give up either the NYI or Toronto 1st much less one of our own as some are speculating the cost will be (because again...DCat or just ask a Canes fan what they would want to bend someone over for in return) to then pay Necas 7.5 for 7 years because you are getting his "prime" years and the cap will go up to make it a "fairer" eventually. If Davidson pulled that crap, that would be a Stunley Blowman move and give the Hawk fan base a different whipping boy besides Seth Jones.

I would take Guentzel and Kane. Still not a playoff team, but a lot more watchable. And really it’s only one big deal, as Kane’s would be short term.

I wonder if the Hawks go EDM-Kaiser pairing to start if they don’t like the defensive depth in free agency.

But it's not, because Necas hasn't said he won't sign long term in Carolina and hasn't been only willing to negotiate with a few teams, like Debrincat.

Necas never played with Aho and Carolina is much better than any team Debrincat has played on. But I agree with you on everything else pretty much. No thanks to Necas for the costs it will take.

Guys Carolina is still trying to re-sign Necas. And even if he is traded, it won’t be to the Hawks. Philadelphia, Montreal and Calgary have shown interest so far.

Since we have so many Carolina experts here, is Kotkaniemi just a complete bust? I'm not suggesting a trade , not with that contract, but if they buy him out, would he be worth our time? Kakko would be decent addition if the price isn't much.

Wait, you think my little joke was used as a "scapegoat" for my "terrible ideas". How does that even make sense? I know I took a shot at you lil bro. Then you regurgitated it. Where was the deflect? You've barely addressed any points made in any of my posts. Your obsession with Necas is clouding your mind.

He’s worth it. Guy is a second or third line C with some size and two way game. Had a rough year but he’s shown flashes. Once upon a time Hawks got a former high pick who was struggling in Carolina by the name Andrew Ladd.

The cap will continue going up and I think that contract could be a real steal for someone in a few years. He’s signed for his entire prime.

He was a monster vs NJ in the playoffs last year then had a great start to this season before falling off a cliff.

It also depends on what kind of contract Guentzel is looking for. He’ll obviously get 7 years. But the difference between 9.5 million and 11.5 million is significant.

Also players well over PPG usually don’t hit free agency. So yes we could wait in the future for another guy to make it to free agency, but they may want even more money. Like Marner looking for 13+ per year.

I'm OK with Guentzel to be honest if he wants to come. If he ages well, that's a big time free agent signing that fills a great medium term need. Look at how well Joe Pavelski's 9.33 % cap hit went when he signed at same age.

Also if the cap keeps going up as expected, his contract is likely a non issue by possibly year 3 or 4

Guentzel is another “not big” forward though. We need to draft BPA (Demidov), but should be more choosy when it comes to free agents.
