To me, Chychrun just doesn't make any sense as a target for the B's given the long-term outlook. Yes, he'd be a nice luxury to have next year as he would allow Lohrei to continue to develop on the bottom-pairing but then what? He's in the last year of his contract so they'd either need to trade him at the deadline (in which case, why bother picking him up in the first place?) or extend him (likely costing at least 7+ per year).

If they do extend him then he'd be blocking Lohrei's long-term development path in the lineup. I suppose you could potentially trade Lindholm in that case but he has a NMC until 2026-27. Is Chychrun enough of an upgrade on Lindholm that it's worth creating that kind of headache for themselves? I don't think so.

I guess the other option in that case would be to roll with Chychrun and Lindholm in their top-4 long-term and potentially use Lohrei as tradebait to try and land that top centre they desperately need. I actually wouldn't be entirely opposed to this but there is a lot of risk there as I think we're only scratching the surface on Lohrei's potential and think he's going to be a stud in this league for a long time. Any trade made involving him would have the potential to be a Ryan McDonagh for Scott Gomez type of disaster.

In fact, at risk of getting kicked from this board, the Bruins current situation reminds me a lot of the Carey Price-era Habs; some nice pieces throughout the lineup, including a stud goalie, but no elite centremen to tie it all together.

If the Bruins were to make a move on defense, I'd like to see them bring in a stop-gap middle-pairing guy at say $3-4 million on a 2-3 year contract with the idea of Lohrei outplaying and pushing him down the lineup at some point.

Chychurn wouldn't be adding any grit or toughness to the defense, so why bother? He isn't a winner, it's just adding another guy that needs to be in the right situation to be better, it's not needed.
Think outside the bubble if you get a d-man like Chychrun at his contract if nothing else he is a nice trade chip at TDL, also if it is true you get a pick and prospect, trade is a no brainer. Side note: this deal seems to have a lot of "Fantasy" attached to it.

Come on, man. Use your imagination.

We'll all played soccer with our five year old niece or nephew, right? The cool uncle makes a wild and dramatic dive at a ball that is rolling one foot every 5 seconds. You make a dramatic, amazing attempt but the little bugger has somehow eluded you and the ball is in the back of the net. You yell out loud, "oh my God.... what a goal!!!!" and everybody runs around the yard high fiving little Julie.

It's just not that hard. Just tell Pasta to make it look good!

Agree completely. Unless there are some really massive can't miss trade upgrades, the emphasis has to be on keeping those firsts.

Teams like Florida can build via free agency, but at the end of the day most teams need to draft well and take advantage of those early years of lower salaries..
Where the hell is this "Tanking" talk coming from, please stop, this team is to good to tank and I just hate the idea, cheering for your team to lose, someone needs a character check.

I don't need to think outside the bubble, Chychurn is just not worth it!.

Oh I'm here to challenge Chychrun being an upgrade to Lohrei.

Possible people didn't watch many Sens games.

I wouldn't swap one for the other at all, not close
I’ve watched a bit of chychurn. I like him. He is big and blocks shots. Skates well. Defends well. Has a good stick. But the thing he has that’s better than anyone on the bruins is the ability to score and create offence (lohrei probably has this but I haven’t seen enough to know for sure )

Washington Capitals are buying it and don't want the fans to have nice things.
I am all for capitalism, but to buy a viable business and then just shut the doors ! If they have that much money why don't they lower the prices so a father can take his kids to a game, or raise the freaking cap higher so the players can what they have worked all their lives for.

Capitals probably found certain data sets and features useful and bought it out so they had exclusive rights. They’ll probably continue to use the data internally.

I’m sure there’s a dozen other groups/sites that view this as an opportunity to fill the void and we will have another (probably better) source shortly.
