Please, in what sense was he their "best" defenseman ? If he was we have big problems. He like everyone of them had moments good not great play.

His prime has been here for a while, what you see is what he is. A good defenseman that's prone to terrible mistakes and brain dead plays that lacks playing the game physically.

His pay is what it should be going forward with the Bruins, he could make a lot more playing somewhere else for a lower end team in the league that he could be the guy for.
He had the lowest offensive zone starts of any player on any team in the playoffs -and still finished with as many goals as the rest of the Bruins defense combined, tied for the team lead in goals at even strength and lead the club +/-. At 27 these are his prime years incoming.

If you think another defenseman on the club had a better playoff run I'd love to hear your reasoning.

I’m still scrolling down for the “Blockbuster” part of the deal

Well from the Colorado POV bringing in the Vezina winner from 2023 is a blockbuster move. From the Boston side there is not much there .

Another deal that would likely need a 3rd team. Would someone like Ottawa give up a valuable piece for Georgiev

Relatively cheap defensive addition- Ian cole

Would require moving out ullmark for draft picks, don’t bring back heinen, put Geekie on the 4th line and lysell 3rd line RW

I like it.

I’ve been saying all along that they must bring in 2 top 6 guys and JDB or a replacement for him.

Ideally for me two of them are centers pushing Coyle to 3C with Freddy and Geekie.

In my plan Lysell isn’t here and the 4th line is very cheap..

My son would tell me to stay the f*** out of it. And for that, as well as many other things, I’m extremely proud of him.

Can you imagine those of us who have normal jobs having your parents contact HR at our company? What the hell are these people thinking?????

I was watching a clip from Brendan Perlini's youtube video the other day. The Oilers put him on waivers and his mom made some snarky tweet on twitter about how "he found out on twitter and was never told by the organization." When the Oilers and him met for contract talks, a high up EDM executive really hammered home how much they didn't like what his mom tweeted.

Sure, the EDM executive went a little overboard with the grudge but a good little reminder that if you're close to someone in the public eye, keep your mouth shut!

If the league called playoff games to the standard of the regular season, the speed/skill teams would do better. Interference, clutch and grab, minor stick work, dirty hits- these things mostly get penalized in the regular season. Come playoff time, much less so. What other major (or minor, even) non-hockey sports league has a system where building a strong team for the season means little in the playoffs? Or perhaps better to say, privileges a certain type of team-building for the playoffs that is so often disconnected from regular season results.

Well the regular season sees players treating a mere heavy body check as an assault on their team mate. The reactions are patently absurd.

I don't think fans would engage in a playoff series where that lack of physicality became the norm.

Are X,Y and Z all going to be gritty and tough? Two years in a row Florida had used tough, physical play with talent and good goaltending to reach the finals and half of the proposals I see have Heinen and Brazeau or another non physical player in the bottom 6. Scoring is obviously number 1 priority, a close second is getting bigger and tougher up front and tougher on D, although Wotherspoon and Peake help.

A great off season to me is Ullmark for Pinto, sign Lindholm, Dillon, Marchessault, Duhaime and Sherwood. Maroon or Lomberg as 13th forward. You add a top 6 center, a potential top line center in Pinto, Dillon who is still physical and a crease clearer on D, physical fast players in Sherwood and Duhaime and a 30 goal scorer in Marchessault. Your depth forward is a huge PITA in Marron or Lomberg. Goals, skill, speed, grit and toughness all added.

Obviously sign Swayman long term.

I honestly thought Brazeau played with some physicality, he’s not gonna fight but he was throwing his body around a bit
I did too. Thought the gentle giant assessment from Providence was a little unfair. Or if not unfair, it really seemed like he knew he would have to add that to his game to stick around in Boston.

I like him on the fourth.

Who was the Boston forward native father convinced him to go to Rangers. Always despised that decision. Harvard kid???
I want to say Jim Vesey but not 100% sure

I don't have an issue with Brazeau, I worry if he will pick it up from where he left off. Too call him non physical wasn't fair as he picked up his physical play greatly in the NHL from what I saw in the A and the one game I caught of him in the E.

Love the Pinto move, but you are not getting Pinto unless you add. The second line would be one of the oldest in the league, does not excite me. No interest in Lindholm, cost too much. Hampus Lindholm is now going to be bottom 6, being replaced and I am not against the player Dillon, who plays less then 19 minutes a night for a player who plays 23 minutes a night makes zero sense . I like what you are trying to do on the 4th line, but if you pull that off no need for Lomberg. Swayman a definite, but lets see what he is looking for in a contract.

Yeah he’ll need to keep it up to stick in the bottom 6 so hopefully he does- that size causes a lot of problems for defenders and it would be great to be able to have that on the roster. Very unique player
