Maybe, but his ppg is actually down from last season. I haven't watched him yet this season, but at first glance it seems he is struggling a bit, and Quebec is a good team.
I haven't watched him either, so I can't really comment on how he's doing. Didn't he have a major shoulder injury in development camp? That will take some time to get back to 100% I would assume. Hopefully he improves a lot at the end of the season and gets a full Summers rehab in.

I also think Canada will not be having many defensemen return to their team next year. I could be wrong, but I think with age eligibility and potential to make the NHL, I think they could be looking for some people to step up next year.

Yeah he did have an injury you're right.

They will lose Power and Guhle, but idk how much beyond that. Plus you got a competitive D crop from the 2022 draft coming. Lots of strong D. He definitely has a chance though.

I really like Sebrago. He was a third-round pick from Detroit ('20). I think he will be too old next year as well.

Yeah, I think we can safely say Lambos and Zellweger will be back next year. Strong chance Ceulemans will be there too. Nause will be competing with other 2021 draft guys like Mailloux, Nolan Allan, Galloway, Trudeau, Del Mastro, Whynot, Ryker Evans, Hinds, Iorio, and Roger. Then there's the top of the 2022 crop in Luneau, Mateychuk, Warren, Nelson, Lindgren, Korchinski. He can make it but he's gonna have to have a big year.

He's not even playing yet for London. I would think he has a big strike against him before the camp even begins.

The OHL just reinstated him a few days ago. Obviously he's missed some hockey, but he was a 1st round pick. I don't think they care about the other stuff, the OHL was satisfied that he worked on his issues and went through a lot of counseling. I also forgot about Brandt Clarke. So the backbone of the D will be Lambos, Zellweger, and Clarke. And a ton of guys competing for 4 spots. It does seem to be more open than it usually is on Canada' s blueline, but it's still a pretty deep pool to choose from. I can see Nause making it; but again, if he has a big year.

Disclaimer *I Don't Know Jack of French, even though I'm Canadian*

From what I can tell, the QMJHL is on a pause in till January 19th?
From what I see, Nause in his previous five games has one goal and two assists. Five Points in his previous 10 games.
Might start be heating up before the pause.

The WHL is going through a rash of pauses and cancellations. Specifically from my end (and thus relevant to you) is that Vancouver's (Sourdif's) games tonight vs Kelowna and tomorrow (Saturday) vs Kamloops (unless I got the teams flip-flopped. But either way it's their Friday/Saturday games) are postponed for precautionary reasons that is not explained in any more detail. I'm assuming it's covid because there have also been weather-related postponements but those have specifically indicated that's why they're on hold. These are not given any reason other than "precautions"

The next scheduled Giants game after that would be Sunday afternoon vs Portland but the Winterhawks have also had a game this weekend postponed in the same spate of moves. Without knowing who or what teams' status are driving the decisions I couldn't tell you if that game is going ahead or not.

In unrelated Prospect news, Levi with his 7th shutout last night in 19 games played.
He is having a good season thus far (14-4-1, 1.26 gaa, .956 sv%), and I've seen Rumblings about him being Team Canada's goalie at the Olympics.

Levi is gonna be a gamer.

Think Knight is too, and with the higher pedigree and all, was the most logical choice… But they’ll be neck-and-neck in the race for a long time and I woudn’t be surprised to see Devon coming out on top !

He may have a Saros-trajectory, but I’m willing to bet he will be his country’s best goalie at some point.

Reino trade looking great for both sides: having Reino has added 3-4 wins. Definitely worth a good prospect and a low first

Sourdif's game tomorrow vs Portland has been postponed. Giants aren't back on the schedule until next week Friday/Saturday at the earliest. That said the Friday game vs Prince George is potentially on TV on TSN (I don't know if NHL Network would simulcast it)

At this point, I'm more surprised if people are playing games then not.

A Full Slate of games yesterday on the NCAA schedule, too bad almost half got postponed due to covid.
Nothing really to report on Panther news. Only point was an assist by Krygier in Michigan State's Big Ten defeat to Minnesota 6-3.

Levi got another shutout last night.

Go Levi! If anything it makes me super pumped because Lu is an amazing goalie scout.

One part I left out is the last two games Northeastern was playing Long Island, probably the worst team in college hockey.

crap! i was watching the other night. i forgot he's up here.

i was telling a buddy that i put the game on and was like "who the hell is LIU???". i was more intrigued by LIU. i had to look it up. it's their first season in D1! that said, they've got a fair amount of D1 castoffs. seems they've been playing very defensive and recently tied lowell.

i mean, bootstrapping a D1 program has gotta be tough.

Hmm I thought it was their first year last season. I was the same way too, didn't recognize them at first. Either way, they're in tough this year.

If you live in Canada, I just saw a commercial that on TSN on Friday @ 10 Est Sourdif's Vancouver Giants are on.

@The Nemesis

Yeah, I think I mentioned that when I noted that the game that was supposed to be today was postponed. I wonder if NHL Network might pickup the simulcast for your US -based fans too.

There are two Giants games slated to be on TSN the rest of this season (covid notwithstanding). Of course they're both home games so I wouldn't watch them on TV since I'd likely be there instead. Unless I decide to give up those tickets to family/friends so I can stay home and watch from the couch. The other game is early February vs Kamloops.

It's disappointing because I'd love to watch some road games, but I get that the logistics of them running the broadcast truck they've likely got parked in Vancouver somewhere down the highway to Langley is a lot easier on them than trekking it up to the interior to do a game from, say, Kelowna.

TSN's deal is weird. Half the games are available only on their app or website streaming platform (Which is inconsistent garbage) and for whatever reason they have the rights to all 3 CHL league's championship series, but only games 3 through 5 from each one with no indication that they'd pick up games 6 or 7 if the respective series went that far. Its' too bad, because the CHL streaming service is wonky too. It's not even available on a lot of devices, which means the odd time I've watched a game being broadcast through it (like, say, all of last season during the covid bubble setup they used) it meant hooking a laptop up to the TV with an HDMI cable so I could have it on a decent sized screen.

When did TSN pick up the broadcasting rights?

Used to be on Sportsnet for a long time. I really like Sam Constantino, he was good.

This is tsn's first season with chl rights. They started last Friday with a wbcast of a qmjhl game and start the full broadcast schedule this week with a Thursday webcast amd friday doubleheader on tv, thereafter covering covering a couple of games each week on Thursdays to Saturdays while mixing between tv broadcasts and ones exclusive to the streaming setup on tsn.ca and their app.

They also have the top prospects game in February, games 3 to 5 of each league championship, and the full memorial cup. I'd imagine that they will also have the Canada/Russia challenge moving forward if they start their broadcasts in the fall instead ofid-season.

There's a full schedule here for you to browse since i don't know what chl tes are pertinent to you for Panthers prospects besides the Giants.

I appreciate that knowledge and Link.
Other than Vancouver Giants games, on January 20th Evan Nause's Quebec Remparts will be on TV.

Oh and I almost forgot, Hache's Kingston Frontenacs will be on four times this season, the first being January 13th
