Prospect Info: 2024-2025 In The System: Checkers, Ghost Pirates, CHL, NCAA, Europe, etc.

Last season I was heavily invested in Team Canada. With my cousin trying out for the team I feel like I knew a lot about that team. Levi was the best all camp, hands down.
A lot of hockey fans don't know about Smilanic, due to playing in a smaller D1 school. I feel like he's going to be an X Factor for Team USA.

Yeah he's hardly talked about despite scoring 0.5 GPG last season.

In other news about my cousin, since he had a two-month injury, and when he was to come back the weekend slate was cancelled due to the opposition having covid, the Phantoms figured they'd send him on a conditioning stint to the ECHL. He played one game there, got lots of pp time and a ppa.
Only trouble is that two guys on the ECHL team tested positive for covid after the game. Now he has to isolate again. Just can't shake this covid mess!

Wow. He needs some good luck.

My bad, just thought you were talking about late round gems in general.

Anyone know how Heineman is doing anyways?

At this point, his career is made to spur @violaswallet disgust for him as a 2nd rounder

Was doing a scan of our prospects and other players that have recently left.

Hoffman and Dadonov not really close to the levels they were here.

Borgstrom is struggggling in CHI.
Stillman is doing the things that will keep him in the NHL, the hard hits and fighting. He will be a Gudbranson like guy who goes where teams need toughness.

This is Heineman's stats below:

So far this year, the standouts are Sourdif, Schwindt, Hutsko and honourable mentions to Heponiemi, Benning and Smilanic

Charlotte is officially on a heater, winning 5 of 6 or 6-3-1 in past 10.
First stretch of the year where they look like a playoff team.

They're currently 5th in pts% in their division, doing pts % in case all teams don't play the full season.

It's a 4-2 win in the rematch VS Rochester. They take 4/4 pts from them and outscore them 15-3 in the mini series.

Dubnyk picks up the win (his 1st of year), stopping 21/23.
**will be keeping an eye on him if he keeps winning to see if Zito maybe offers him a cheap deal if he wants to stick around after Spengler Cup and maybe be our backup?**

Hutsko has 2 goals and a helper (7g, 19pts in 25 GP).
He's got his early season swagger back, 3 goals and 8 pts in the last 6 games.

The 2nd Hutsko goal was a ENG but worth the posting for effort on it.

Denisenko picked up his 9th assist, on the lone Charlotte PPG of the night.
5 goals and 9 pts in past 10 games

Say this because the PP is white hot of late. 5/17 (29%) in last 4 games

Priskie notched his 9th assist
1 goal and 5pts in his last 4 games.

@The Nemesis
Nice little blurb about Sourdif in the Athletic. They talked about all the cuts and all the players that made the team.

"RW Justin Sourdif (Florida Panthers): Sourdif’s play in the summer camp worked him into the locks conversation from the outside and he remained there with his play as the top dog on the Vancouver Giants. It doesn’t hurt that Giants head coach Mike Dyck is an assistant on the Team Canada staff either. I suspect he ends up in a checking role on the third line. Of note in practice: Sourdif uses an unusually long stick but he’s still got a deceptive release, which is hard to create with that length. Part of it, I’ve noticed, is just that the puck comes off the blade early, surprising goalies."
Wheeler: Team Canada 2022 world junior selection camp notes, standouts and lineup projection

Super late responding to this. Sorry about that.

I saw that. It's all pretty true, except that I'm not really good at picking up that he used a longer stick than expected. Not surprised he made the team, as like the article says, it helps having your usual head coach as a member of the Canadian staff.

And if there needed to be any indication that he's important to the team, the Giants' results since Sourdif left for WJC camp:

4-3 loss to Victoria (who really suck)
5-3 loss to Prince George (who suck slightly less) <-- at this point they also lost Fabian Lysell and starting G Jesper Vikman (VGK draftee) to Sweden's WJC team.
7-3 loss to Prince George (who still suck slightly less than Victoria but about the same as they did in the above game)

Sorry for you're Loss :help:

Anybody else think it would have made sense to send Lundell and Tippett down for Charlotte's game tonight and tomorrow?
Just to get some offense going since they aren't gonna be playing for over a week anyway.

He’s clearly not confident in himself which really sucks but he’s 20. He’ll get it together again.

The 4th one was bad too. Went to play the puck behind the net, lost control and opposition right there to tap it in.
3 of the 4 goals were partially/fully on him, 2 for sure.

Gonna need some games to settle in because he is nowhere close to being backup right now.

It's now 5-1 and Knight may get the hook..
EDIT- they do leave him in the net after all.
Surprised.

Crazy how quickly he kind of imploded. AHL is a good place for him for now. Practice his craft a little more.

Nope. Injury risk over a long season. Knight is down because he’s not playing up here regularly.

Tippett is a regular so sending down is a confidence shock. Lundell doesn’t need more minutes…

Lundell? No. Tippett maybe, the guy is not confident in his game. We needed him to step up recently and he really hasn’t answered the call. Not sure what his issues are but he needs to figure it out to stay in the NHL.
