It will interesting to see who gets promoted or how the lines look when SEA isn't part of the team.
Someone else can do the 2 team thingy next year.

I'd be shocked if Kinnear is still coaching the team next year if they miss this year, the 3rd and 4th spot in their division is wide open for the taking.

Would like them to give Schwindt the 2C role to up his offense role and also still allows him to shine defensively
They’re adding an expansion franchise but I think the arena took too long due to Covid

Blue Jay Way..
Smilanic (16gp-8G-4A) with a goal last night in a 4-0 rout of Union in a ecac divisional game.. Quinnipiac is currently on an 11-game unbeaten streak, with three consecutive shutouts in a row. They only have one regulation loss this season in 16 games. Maybe they should look at playing stiffer competition.

Just found an article (Mike Benning Named NCHC Co-Defenseman of the Week - University of Denver Athletics) about Benning (13 gp-5G-7A) that he was named co-defenseman of the week honours a couple weeks ago in the NCHC.

He recorded a PPA last night in Denver 7-1 clowning of Arizona State. He is on a personal four-game point streak (1G-6A).

Nice work!! Good to see for both, Ty seems like a solid depth scoring threat in a couple years. Hoping we can sign him and have room but with him being versatile with C or W would help.

Benning started out on fire last year and seemed to cool off IIRC but let's see if he can stay somewhat close to this current pace.

One thing I am seeing aboat Benning, is that a lot of his points are secondary assists, where he just does a 30' pass to someone else, who then makes the play.

He kind of almost reminds me of Yandle in the offensive zone.
Not really sure what to think about him yet.

Stretch passing/offensive IQ: check
Future PPQB: definitely possible
Defensive game: need to focus on

He gives me Priskie vibes, want to see how he does in AHL but with our RD prospect depth chart being lean, he has a good shot to crack the roster in a few years.

Ludvig is still dead....

Surprised to see Noel above Denisenko, maybe they're trying to jump start his offense.

Liked what I saw from that full FLA 3rd line though. Schwindt and Denisenko could become a solid passing and scoring option.

Happy to see Juolevi getting consistent games in.

Denisenko scores his 4th goal on the PP to take a late 3-2 lead, Kiersted with his 5th assist and Schwindt with a secondary assist, his 4th

The Denisenko goal holds up as the GWG, Charlotte win 3-2. They move to 10-9-2 now.

Hachè with an assist today in Kingston's 5-1 win over the Ottawa 67's. Kingston is one point out of the top spot in the OHL Eastern Conference, with two games in hand.
A true stay-at-home defenseman, he has a goal and an assist in 22 GP.

A nice D2D pass, and your partner with the Home Run stretch pass, followed by a snipe. Great assist :naughty:

Also Kinnear shouldn't have any excuses to make this team to go on a winning streak. The players are under-performing both individually and as a team across the board.

The 6 game homestand needs to be 7 or 8 pts because the teams behind them have games in hand.

Done with Kinnear tbh, even if he gets to 2nd or 3rd round.
The 2 team dynamic of course sucks but he's been there since 2016-17 and hasn't made the playoffs once.

Can anybody explain to me how the man still has the job? Anybody? Does he have Viola's naughty pictures because that's the only reason I can see why he hasn't been fired years ago.

Giants got boat raced by Kamloops last night, 7-1. No points for Sourdif as the only Giants goal was unassisted and not by him. He managed to escape the game with an even 0 +/-, though that's largely because 5 of the 7 goals surrendered were courtesy of the Blazers' PP.

They're back at it (and back at home) tomorrow night vs I believe Victoria (who are unrepentantly awful) for the team's teddy bear toss game. I will be there, bears in hand, and will actually have more to say than the last few road games.

Those are rough PK numbers!

Please tell me he doesn't play on the PK :puppy:

He does.

That was a bit unusual though. The Giants have for much of the season been in the top 5/6 in the WHL in PK%. But that bad Kamloops game contributed to them now sitting 11th of the 22 teams in the league. Kamloops is also a bit of a juggernaut this season. They're 18-4-0-0 on the season (2 of those 4 losses against the Giants) and are tied for 3rd in the league in PP%

I think he's usually decent enough on the PK. Not out there like he's going to be gunning for a Selke or anything at the NHL level unless he suddenly unlocks a ton of unforeseen defensive acumen, but he is good enough to not be a liability and providing some value because he's quick to transition to offence on turnovers or short clears and eat up opposing PP time in a "the best defence is a good offence" sort of way. He's also potted a SHG along the way.
