free extra hockey at the LEC. and a good opportunity for Sourdif to do something as he'll be a heavy contributor in the extra frame.

Button is a complete buffoon. He's ok here and there but he makes Pierre look professional.

Pierre has to be doing something right. Because now he's in Ottawa extolling the virtues of the Baconator and making sure the Sens draft enough kids from Skelleftea who remind him of Mike Richards. Whammo. :sarcasm:

Since I've got no Sharks game tonight maybe I'll hang out here during the broadcast and offer captain obvious observations, memes and sarcasm. That's pretty much my wheelhouse.

Big slate of NCAA games on Friday:

As mentioned prior, Similac with two goals and an assist in their 3-0 win over Harvard last night in ECAC play. Quinnipiac continues their magical season as the #6 team in the country. I still stand by the fact that they should be in a tougher division. I won't bother reposting his highlights.

Inamoto, remember him? He had his first point of the season in Wisconsin 5-2 win over rival Michigan State. He is in his senior season for Wisconsin.

Samoskevich's #2 ranked Michigan Wolverines with a 3-2 win over rival Penn State. He had an assist on the first score of the game.

Uens with a PPA in Merrimack big 3-2 upset win over Hockey East rival Providence. He continues his great Junior season.

If you've got a better idea for Bezos to pay for his spaceships, I'd like to hear it. :sarcasm:

I'm staying home tonight and watching the game on TV because it's back-to-back games tonight and tomorrow for the Giants vs Prince George so I can afford to kick back on the couch for one night instead of dealing with the fact that the additional broadcast setup will encroach on the concourse and choke traffic up even further. Also it means that I don't have to go see them live wearing the awful "community heroes" alternate jerseys. Though I'll probably pay for that one tomorrow when they wear the even worse new white alternates that I'm terrified are going to become the team's regular uni set next year because I seem to be the only fan with actual taste

Unfortunately my thought that maybe the NHL Network would pick up the simulcast appears to be a bust. That's a shame.

No idea what the lineup looks like for the Giants tonight. Lysell hasn't played since just before the WJCs (and didn't play at the WJCs either from what I remember before the shutdown) so if he's out that puts a lot more pressure on Sourdif to be the offensive focal point.

Yeah, those are ugly Jerseys.

I am currently watching the Vancouver Giants game from last night.

They just showed a nice little pack on Sourdif.
Craig Button just described he reminds him a lot of Jordan Kyrou.

I know what I bring to the table and I'm OK with that.

Giants are back at it again tonight vs the Cougars again. No TV, but I will be there for it this time. No community hero jerseys, but with the league now mandating whites at home, no exceptions, they'll probably wear the awful, awful new white alternates that I fear will become their regular kit for next season.

Oh and it's a chance for Sourdif to see if he can push the team to a win. But that's less important than sartorial discussion.

0 points tonight for Sourdif in a 4-2 Giants loss. They fell behind 3-0 before getting as close as 3-2 but couldn't complete the comeback.

I thought Sourdif looked like he was pressing all night. Not necessarily bad as he did sort of generate some offence and skated hard. But there were a lot of ill-advised passes into traffic or to non-existent recipients and shots into the shins of opposing players. Felt like he was really trying to make something happen instead of making smart plays and letting things happen off of that.

Following an incredible 21 games without a goal and an eight game pointless streak.
Hopefully he got that monkey off his back and has a strong second half of the season.
Actually OT had two assists last night.

There is some high-profile prospects trying to knock the door down. Panthers are playing good right now, hopefully no one screws up, or there isn't any injuries, they will quickly grab their place.

Samoskevich with a nice assist on the GWG in Michigan's 4-3 win over Penn State again.

Krygier with a goal in Michigan State 3-2 loss to Wisconsin. He is in his senior season for Michigan State, and has nine points (4g, 5a) in 24 games, which is respectable for him.

Sourdif with a blistering half-slapper to find a hole stick-side.

Nice goal. Bad analysis by Craig Button (who I think called him "Jordan" at least twice)
he was a nice Flapper from the top of the circles in the middle. The kind of goal you like to see him score, but the kind of goal you don't like if you're a fan of the goalie.
