A guy who was 3rd in Cy Young voting doesn't get pulled from the rotation because he has 10 starts with an ERA of 5.00. On this or any team. Have the Yankees dropped Nestor Cortes?

Things have now escalated in the past few starts so they probably have to do something, but there was no way he was getting pulled from the rotation any earlier than this.
He now has an ERA of 6.36. I think they must do something after this start.

So we all agree Manoah needs to come out of the rotation until he figures his shit our or? Send him to AAA until he figured it out. I don’t care if that takes until next year or longer. This doesn’t work and he’s not going to figure it out up here. If we are serious about winning he can’t be starting. If we have to do bullpen days so be it. But destroying his confidence and watching him get worse aren’t the fix

Who tf is Oszuna

I wanna see if the crowd boos the shit out of Bass again. At least give me something to chuckle at tonight.
Booing Bass for having an opposing viewpoint is ridiculous. Boo Manoah for sucking

Yeah....nah.

Frankly i don't like the idea of booing a guy who's already in the shits. Sure Manoah sucks but it's not like he's not trying to be better.

Anthony Bass decided to make a clown/distraction out of himself (twice) on top of viewpoints that aren't acceptable given the city he plays in while giving the most canned ass apology known to man. He deserves it.

Noted trashbag player Daulton Varsho with another garbage HR.

Bass brought it on himself for broadcasting his trash views on multiple occasions (he could've chosen not to go to social media to score clout points with them and nobody would've cared) and then doubling down on the most recent incident with that lame insincere, Ryan-Leaf-level apology. If he has the right to an opposing viewpoint then fans also have the right to drag him for it with a chorus of boos. The pendulum swings both ways.

I think Manoah is struggling with the pitch clock. He is a big dude not in great shape. I would go back to look at his starts last year and see how long it took for him to deliver pitches and see if he is being rushed to throw and as a result just tired. He can't find a rhythm in the short pitch window

The last 2 weeks of Varsho (not counting tonight):

.255/.295/.747 slash (avg/obp/ops)
106 wRC+
7.4% K rate
5.6% BB rate
3 HR
8 RBI
9 runs scored

and he's still getting BABIP'd (.223)

this is with him being worth 9 DRS over the course of the season which is easily #2 on the team behind Kiermaier and well clear of the 3rd spot (Chapman). In fact the DRS leaderboard separates players by their individual positions (so each guy can appear multiple times, once for each position he plays). By that division the top 5 in DRS is:

1) Kiermaier (12)
2) Varsho in LF (5)
t3) Chapman (4)
t3) Varsho in CF (4)
5) Kirk (3)
t6) Bichette (2)
t6) Espinal at 2B (2)

Jeepers, rather harsh. Would you like to see the Dodgers kicked out of the league?

WRT Bass, while I wouldn't have done what he did, I guess he felt the need to come out publicly to defend his wife.

In my travels for work, Ihave met many trash stewardesses/stewards that think they own the plane and make the rules, while acting entitled. So it goes both ways. I think it's wise not to take a side if someone wasn't there to witness it.

The old adage applies......there are 3 sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth.

Now what the heck can the Jays do about Manoah? I say the Roy Halladay treatment. Back to the FCL or Low A, and he has to earn his way back up at each step. Build him back up.

I’m not a big fan of booing players but I’d certainly boo a garbage performance over booing someone because they have an opposing view. He is in fact allowed to feel differently than you

Agreed on all accounts. I think Manoah has to go down. There’s no choice

Roy Halladay went to Single A. Maybe Alek should head there to get his confidence back.

But they did that out of Spring Training I think

And other people are allowed to feel differently than him and express themselves accordingly. Again, the pendulum swings both ways. I have no idea when the concept of freedom of speech morphed into "people should be allowed to say what ever they want in whatever forum they want without consequence or blowback" but that isn't now nor ever was what it's about. As long as he's not being arrested for voicing his opinion or views (provided said opinions or views don't break the laws in other ways, such as the utterance of threats, instances of hate speech, or incrimination for the commission of other crimes) his freedom is being respected. And the same freedom that allows him to do that is what also allows people opposed to his comments to voice displeasure or respond negatively to it.

Manoah is an absolute gas can.

The only positive is that Shatkins never signed him to a contract extension. He'll end up being a one year wonder

Who would make his next start for him? Bowden Francis? Then who goes from the 40 man to make room? Or maybe Atkins can trade a Biggio for someone’s excess pitching that they don’t need any longer? I mean freaking Panik returned something in a trade, Biggio probably can too.

Roy Halladay him. He’s completely done and needs to start from scratch. It’s likely already cost the jays a playoff spot. Management is disgusting. Imagine throwing every 5th game down the drain and murdering your bullpen in the process….. for months on end

Watch a real pitcher tonight. Gausman is an absolute beauty.
