This front office is completely dysfunctional. It’s unreal that both Atkins and Schneider will be back, even moreso since the former just threw the latter under the bus.

I always get the feeling Ross Atkins isn’t even in business of baseball. He’s like some corporate think tank guy whose primary purpose is to project even keeled public relations messages with a hint of data.

No accountability is a very bad sign.

This season was a disaster no matter what the geniuses say about underlying stats and ops+ bs. Pitching was wasted waiting for the bats to do anything, almost all of the 164 games were stressful, boring, painful or all and mgmt did nothing about it all year.

Topped off with one of the stupidest moves in history and two terrible wc games where the exact same story unfolded with fat lazy non serious anti clutch players.

Let's run it back again next year!
What a waste of time im not doing again next year without a significant offseason.

Is there an archive of this press conference? All I've seen is a couple short clips.

Houston wins it easily. You mean the Twins aren’t some pitching powerhouse? Shocking!

“But the Jays would’ve done better against Ober!”

Would they have though?

To be fair, the Jays don't have anyone close to Alvarez. The guy is a monster.
Honestly the main problem of the Jays offense is a lack of depth. They have three hitters capable of running batters in on a consistent basis and that's it (and one of them is getting old). The other hitters are complimentary pieces who should not bat higher than 6. Yes a better star players would help but Houston had 4 players with more than 90 RBIs. Jays had one (two if BO play a full season). Jays don't have guys like Bregman or Abreu on top of their two best players.

People can come up with all the analytic they want and say baseball is not the same at the end of the day if your 4th hitter is Cevan Biggio you wont go far in playoffs. And it's not like Biggio was there because the coach disliked some other guys. He was there because all other options failed during the season. I don't want to defend Schneider but he tried multiple guys and it always failed. I'll criticize Schneider for not trying Davis though. We knew biggio would not do the job but Davis it's still unknown and It'll remain unknown for now sadly.

The reality is the Jays traded their 3rd best hitter at running batters in and they did not replace him. It's as simple as that. When Jays traded Hernandez my first reaction was fine the guy is getting old and we got a good pitcher. But my second reaction was we now need to replace him. But the Jays had what it took to replace him in Moreno one of the very promising young player in the league. Sadly Atkins acquired a guy who well was simply not good enough and ultimately played the same role as KK.
