Whatever. St. Louis is a great team too, they are not going to get swept at home very often. Still in position to win the series tomorrow. Losses will happen, at least 60+ more of them to come most likely (unless you're having some kinda historical season). So buckle up.

Yeah, some pretty crap takes to one annoying game.
Apparently the team is terrible defensively, Daulton Varsho can't hit, and Cavan Biggio - who has a .600 OBP and turned a great double play today - is the Worst Anything Ever.
Yeesh.

They're currently on a 1 game losing streak. If you extrapolate that over the course of a season they're going to finish 1-161 with no HRs and be inarguably the worst team in MLB history. If that doesn't make you worried, what are you even doing here?

Lol I mean, Keirmaier is a gold glove CF and arguably the best defensive OF ever, and Varsho had the most defensive value of any OF last season.... Seems weird claiming Varsho can't hit after a 2 game sample. Even funnier that Kiermaier has a .444 avg through 2 games too, so I honestly have no idea what you're on about.
This feels like a take for someone that doesn't get that even the best teams in baseball lose ~70 games and most of the best hitters get on base less than 4/10 times they're at bat.

Oh are we doing the sky is falling shit already? Figured i'd check in since i haven't been around for a few months.
While that game admittedly sucked today i honestly like how the lineup looks so far. They're a lot more patient at the plate. I'm not sure how much of that is them actually being patient or pitches struggling with the new pitch clock/rules i am a fan of it either way. Shit even Bo has been weirdly patient
Big standouts to me so far have been Varsho and Kiermaier. The latter has never been elite with the bat but it looks like he hasn't missed a beat since the hip surgery athleticism wise which is fantastic. Basically exactly as advertised. Same with Varsho. No one was expecting him to hit 300 or whatever unrealistic expectations people had for him. Hit the occasional bomb, play outstanding defense and roll with it.
Belt i never really had expectations for. Decent short term pickup coming off of a pretty gnarly bout with COVID and other injury. If he doesn't pan out, whatever.
My only legit, long term concern is Bo apparently still sucks defensively given what i've seen in the first two games. That and Kevin Gausman pissed off a deity and/or deities in another life to constantly get BABIP'd to death,

Other than questionable managerial decisions last game, no complaints so far. Jays had all the BABIP luck in the world in game 1 and zero in game 2. Cards hit some dusty singles today, to go with that throwing error.

We're two games into the season and you're talking about "another" game thrown away because of terrible defense. The Jays are going to be one of the best defensive teams in the league this year and one of the elite defenders in the game made a mistake today that cost them. It happens. Defensively, they're nothing like last year.
The point is that literally every team in the league will have dozens of "annoying" losses every year.
