@Corto @HajdukSplit How do you guys rate him?

I rate him highly but I'm always nervy about players jumping directly to the EPL from the HNL, outside of Modric and a lesser extent Kranjcar it tends to not work out. But he is a good technical CB, pretty strong in the air/defensive tackles. Prior to this Arsenal link he's been mainly a target for BL sides, including RB Leipzig who see him as a Gvardiol replacement

Matt Law has been reporting concrete Chelsea interest in Onana.

That goes back years prior to the purchase of Mendy.

Guess he fits the “not too old so he won’t be blocking Solina” age range.

I wonder who is buying Mendy.

Slonina is never going to play a meaningful league match for Chelsea, unless injuries or he’s back from one of his loans

… were you expecting him to go from the MLS straight into the PL at 18 years old?

Not at all. I’m expecting him to be a member of the loan army; and it will be even harder for him to break in if Chelsea are adding ANOTHER goalie in Onana who (I think) is only 26 years old; and it’s not like Chelsea don’t have a short attention span either.

Did you expect they signed Slonina to give him a run into the #1 kit? And if they did why are they trying to get Onana

If I were Spurs I would start a rebuild. Without CL football and both players over 30 they would need to start fresh. Unless Kane is willing to stay on a rebuilding team (which I doubt)

But it's OK to sign for a club who suspiciously got gifts from the gouvernment, suspiciously get constant gifts from referees and unsupsiciously got helped by a fascist dictator.

It's good he has moral grounds.
I wonder if he can read what’s stapled on Madrids kit?

Yeah, it is a stupid statement. Just like when Mbappé says he wants to control his image rights because he do not want his face on sugary drinks, yet, he is more than willing to take a check from slave owners.

If Bellingham really said that, it is a little dumb indeed.

It's pretty stupid from players to make these type of statements in public, regardless of what they actually might think. There's nothing to gain from these.

Just stay silent, and if anyone asks, just say that he's concentrating on football matters. After repeatedly saying that for a while , the questions will die out and press will lose interest in this regard.

Looks like the guy just has bad PR people giving him advice.

Seems like you understand why Bellingham might have said that, then.

What the dude below said. I'm sure @HajdukSplit and @Corto have seen more of him. Doesn't strike me as quite as robust as Gvardiol though. Anyway, Croatia is currently looking bit French lite with the CBs they're producing.

Well the good thing is he's got some CL experience.

Pablo torre rumoured to be loaned next season to Villareal

Good news. He needs to play. Should have left in the Winter window out on loan.

Yeah, and then after you've taken every penny you can off the club, call them out after you retire.

Anyway, despite some of the commentary about him, he doesn't strike me as the sharpest tool in the shed.

Because Mendy expires in a year and Kepa is a bad goalie?

Slonina is 18?

You’re right, Courtois never played a game for chelsea.

He's nothing like Cazorla. He plays similar to Rice IMO. But I think Rice is slightly better
Oh I know, just stating that I want somebody that can be that impactful on the pitch for that money. I can go to Ligue 1 and get a #6 for as good as 30 million IMHO. I get that Cazorla also played a bit as a #6 in terms of being a deep-lying playmaker, but he was just off-the-chart good when it came to IQ and technical skills that Zubimendi/Rice won't be able to match.

Dang, I realised they're both the same age and Rice is EPL proven. I think I would rather pay a bit more for him than get Zubimendi's buy-out clause IMO.

i mean if you are saying there is zero chance Chelsea sign any other goalies (besides Onana) to block Slonina that would be nice but I also don’t think there is a ton of evidence supporting that
