Absolutely, he's going to take a spot away from the youth wingers or youth CMs, which are Barcas' best positions for youth and potential. It's the same issue with CR7, he was taking a spot away from higher potential players like Antony or Sancho because he thinks he should be always starting just like Messi probably has the same attitude. Look at the Arsenal, we are playing youth and developing every single one to the point we are currently 1st in the EPL. Players like Messi will ruin that playing time and keep one of Saka, Trossard, Jesus, Odegaard, or Martinmessi off the pitch and that is a negative.

Mate, you need to do some research. We have some wide players who are “prospects”, but the one that is considered to be the most “silver bullet” is still only about 16 years old. The rest are questionable in terms of those who would be immediately promoted. With regards to CMs, that’s more fair, but we just gave Garrido his debut over the weekend.

Playing and developing youth? 1st in the EPL? You do realize we’re 1st in La Liga, correct? You also realize that Trossard is 28, Odegaard is 24 and Jesus is 26 right?

You honestly think Messi doesn’t care? And for context on how Messi is performing, statistically this is what he’s delivered in Ligue 1 since the World Cup:

-6 goals and 3 assists in 11 matches

And for context, that was after the World Cup where he played every minute of every match if I’m not mistaken. Now, let’s compare that to Mbappe:

-7 goals and 1 assist in 11 matches

And since he REALLY cares, let’s compare that to Neymar:

-2 goals, 2 assists, 3 yellow cards, 1 red card and 1 sister’s birthday party in 6 matches.

And so I don’t have to deal with it later, I already said that Neymar gets too much shit just a couple of weeks back.
Difference between those and the PSG fans (and me) is that some watch the games and some don't. Messi doesn't care. Neymar does.
Heck, Neymar is the only one who makes constant defensive efforts out of the 3.
Mbappe played injured and didn't take a break after the WC.

If Romano is saying it, then it probably has a good chance of happening. Doesn't matter, he makes Barca a worse team and prevents a youth player from getting actual development time.
I mean... Lionel Messi doesn't make Barca a "worse" team. What on Earth lol.

It doesn't work in PSG where the fullbacks can't play defense, the midfield is made out of scarecrows and the forward trio CBA to backtrack... But put him in a Barca shirt, with Pedri, Gavi, Lewa, Dembele, etc... It will work. He'll have enough of the ball, they'll run for him, play for him, and he's still an amazing player, maybe not his old self, but still Lionel Messi.

Consider the source guys… the guy point blank said Fernan Torres and Dembele are better than Messi.
Never said that, I only said that Messi doesn't really seem like a player who should play winger at his age and toll on his body.

He didn't "lead" PSG to a CL win as he did at the "WC" supposedly...

He has been playing as inverted winger for years and on the NT.

Its a team sport and he lead Argentina at the WC. Hence why he won player of the tournament, most goals and assist for his team.

Yeah, I was referring to them all in that position (winger), not their individual talent levels. No one in their right mind would think that Torres is more talented than Messi lol. Dembele on the other hand, at this point in their careers, could definitely match Messi, but he's always injured so he's irrelevant.

WC is such a small and short tournament can we even judge that? In La Liga, he'll be demanding 40+ games a season and more the deeper you lot potentially go in Europe/FA Espana/etc. as a winger that will have to track back. I am already seeing it with Salah in the EPL, the bloke has looked broken at times and that's because of the demand of that position, wingers tend to be used for the most agile and fastest players on the pitch.

Yes and he's been playing as a winger for years... it doesnt matter anyway as Xavi wants him in the midfield it appears.

and no lol Messi with one leg is still miles ahead of Dembouz.

I have also watched a lot of PSG games lately and although I would hardly say Messi 'care'. It is obvious he is the main creator of that team with Mbappe the main scoring threat. Neymar has been the less noticeable of the 3 for me, I would hardly lable him as 'caring' more. I think part of your answer is due to nostalgia as Neymar has played for longer and has won more for PSG, which is fine.

That being said, PSG should go back to their root and get more french players instead of foreigners and move on from both Neymar and Messi

Messi would be better in La Liga than Ligue one, as it's slower and less physical, and more suited to his skills. He's also 35, so the wheels can fall off at any given time. That being said, I still want it back for as long as he's useful, and he still is.

You're setting yourself up for disappointment here.
Just be happy he closes his career where he belongs but don't put expectations.

Nope it is totally due to Neymar making defensive efforts.
All 3 were great from August to November.
Mbappe has been ok since the other 2 not.

That's much fairer.

I've seen enough of him and have adjusted my expectations as much as I could. He still surprises a lot... its enough he's back in barca but yeah he's still very much better than Dembele this isnt really a discussion.

So Messi is going to go embarass himself in Saudi Arabia like Ronaldo, huh?
Who gets their football news from espn? He already reject it. And in any case most wouldn’t bat an eye taking that stupid amount of money. Messi would be no different. He’s made a killing off of slave wage profits.

I mean when I come across something online before posting and making accusations, I would consider the source no? Its ESPN, as good as the daily fail, mirror etc.

Utterly absurd statement. ESPN and the Daily Mail? That's got to be a close second after you claimed that Mpabbe wasn't a good passer. By the way, you realize Messi won't see your efforts, yes?

Are you suggesting ESPN or the daily mail are any good for football news at the same time as accusing someone else of absurdity?

Right now, there are plenty of players I'd take over Messi, and clearly, Dembele is among them.
But you never liked him and always underrated him. Even when he was carrying your team, you still didn't like him.
