I think Thornton actually has a good amount of talent, that body is just so skinny
He's talented. But if he keeps getting hurt and puts no muscle on him...it's not gonna work out. Hopefully he heals up fine.

But I an very excited to see Pop and Boutte play.

I don't think Zappe was really put in a favorable position to make such a quick judgment on what can handle. who exactly did he play with?

...the same way Mac Jones was not put in a favorable position last year to develop? It's almost like Bill doesn't put anyone in a favorable position except himself these days.

Bob Kraft has morphed into John Henry

I don't blame Bob as much. Yes it's dereliction of duty on his part and he should do better as the boss, but he's in the process of handing the team over to Jonathan as well. It's up to Jonathan to take the reigns and stand up to Bill. Bob can't always do it.

Ah…Felger talk

Prove it to be wrong.

Hell baby
More upside than Zappe. Very good athlete with a good arm. Was injured all of last year. Interesting guy to get in here behind Mac. I’m sure they played against each other in college

Corral was good to very good in SEC and mobile then- not sure now

Corral is superior to Zappe to me - Mac probably thought he was getting a vet like McCoy, Keenam, or Foles

This probably was a wtf moment getting a fellow SEC QB who he knows is legit at that level

Very shrewd move by the Pats.

I watch a lot of SEC football (I'm an A&M grad) and if Matt Corral hadn't had that gruesome injury in the Sugar Bowl, he arguably would have been the second QB picked in that draft. He definitely would have been a top 60 pick. Admittedly, the 2022 QB Draft class was weak, but I liked his leadership, mobility and toughness. He didn't shrink in big SEC games, either.

Huge upgrade over Zappe if he's fully healthy.

Matt Corral at highest QB talent level when in college. Off-field issues once again cast shadow. Rocket arm passer reminiscent of slinging Sam Howell. Chris Simms knows what he saw back then.

My old roommate is a big Ole Miss fan and he said Corral was one of the most accurate passers in college. I'm sure hes a homer and I don't follow college football so I have no judgement on his opinion.
I actually liked him better than Pickett, before Corral got hurt in the Sugar Bowl. Kid could throw and was a fearless runner. Probably a little too fearless.....

Pickett's numbers were way better, but he had a significantly weaker schedule than Corral.

From his wikipedia page:

Of Mexican heritage, Corral was born on January 31, 1999, in Ventura, California.[1] He later attended Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, California, before transferring to Long Beach Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, California.[2] He later stated he switched schools due to Oaks Christian being for "rich kids" that were "never going to have to work a day in their lives", as well as a physical altercation with a son of Wayne Gretzky that finalized his decision to transfer.[3]

lmao
