Molendyk is not bad, but kind of meh. Doesn't really fit Trotz's quote too much in my opinion.
High upside players...Cristall.

Worked for Lambert.
When I say Lambert in the NHL I will agree. I'm not a lambert detractor btw... I hope he makes it.

Last big time Czech in CHL was Zadina.. who I thought would be traded today.lol

I did want Sale to hit Barrie right after the Jr's though!

The NFL puts on entertaining drafts.

What are they doing differently? I've watched a couple and they look fundamentally more or less the same to me. More people care about them and the production is better definitely but it's still mostly old guys talking into a microphone.

I'm referring to the trades and willingness of the NHL teams to actually make trades and moves to drive up interest in their teams. Look at the trades and buzz surrounding the NBA and NFL drafts. Now look at this.

Not one single trade in the first round?

Well yeah, this draft is atypical for that. Usually there are at least 4 or 5 trades in the first round. Maybe it speaks to how strong this draft class is that we haven't seen any yet.

Why didn't Guerin trade up 3 spots to get Moore ahead of chicago!?..... even if it took one of our 2nds to do it. Very disappointing draft for the Wild.

It really could be but it feels more like the old school 'we painted ourselves into a corner and also don't want to make any trades that may make us look bad 10 years from now.'

Drafts are rarely exciting. Even those calling for more trades weren't riveted when Florida swapped picks with Pittsburgh in 03 or Columbus before that. Draft day trades are usually whatever slide a spot or two.

I'm watching Sportsnet.. it's been good overall. Does McKenzie no longer commentate these? Yes I know he's TSN.
