I'm referring to the trades and willingness of the NHL teams to actually make trades and moves to drive up interest in their teams. Look at the trades and buzz surrounding the NBA and NFL drafts. Now look at this.

To me, he was the lesser of all the top U.S guys, seems scouts agree.

Same. I wouldn't be shocked at all if he makes the NHL and does well. I also wouldn't be shocked if he's the next TJ Tynan who dominates the AHL but can't get more than a cup of coffee in the NHL.

His IQ and creativity are there for sure. But he really needs to improve his skating, shot, and perimeter tendencies.

At this spot though it's a great pick. High risk, high upside.

Crippling is a nice way of putting it. Let's see what the trades look like with a larger cap but my guess is that they continue to display a conservative approach.

And independent scouting services ranked him around that range too.

I'm not saying I had him at 10, but plenty legit scouts did.
He was more in the 15 range for me.
