Yeah i know its early but 2022 draft discussion started pretty quickly too last year.
So far its #1 Bedard and #2 Mitchkov but after that what are players you are interested in for the Ducks ?
I don't see Bedard falling like Wright did at all. Who will be this years Slaf and Cooley ?

Blanket warning to everyone - the season is over, the active tanking is over, and everyone needs to remember how to get along.

Polite discussions of different viewpoints is fine. Assertions as to who is a good fan, who is a bad fan, and most particularly trolling behavior is going to result in thread bans and warnings. The vast majority of posters here are great about this. There are a few of you, on both sides of this issue, who are trying to start things, and I would advise you to carefully consider if that snarky comment you just made is worth being your last post in a thread. I would advise the folks who think that making an even snarkier response to make that same assessment. Neither of your posts will be seen by anyone else for long regardless.

It is perfectly fine to not understand how anyone could root for the team to lose. It is perfectly fine to not understand how losing has strong benefits to the franchise king term. There are gaping holes in BOTH positions, that may be discussed and debated…POLITELY.

We are all Ducks fans. Time to remember that and stop being at each other’s throats.

Fantilli is just too fast and big to need as much time as McTavish did imo.
He doesn't have a low hockey IQ like Byfield either.
I see him putting up 40 points in his first NHL season, i think he's that good and would have gone #1 overall in 2022, 2021 and 2020 drafts.

My brainpower has run out for the week and I can't seem to find anything that says how likely we are to draft 2nd or 3rd overall. Anyone have those off-hand?

I think the lottery odds changed 2 years ago, both years since the last place team has kept 1st overall.
That worries me, a lot. Hoping lucky 3rd year in a row is the end of the streak of last place teams retaining first.

Seems different this year though. Teemu was even manifesting it earlier this season. Wonder how much HOF players can push the dial in our favor. Realistically there’s some form of draft lottery “ shenanigans “ that go on behind doors *cough cough Edmonton
Mctavish at one point; every single loss would send bedard a text saying how it’s all roads lead to bedard to the ducks.

every time i run the tankathom simulator we drop down to #3 lol
I ran it ten times. First on the first try. Three more times and weirdly on two of them Washington jumped to second overall. One time second overall with San Jose picking first. Gross but it pushes Chicago down.

5 outta ten good results ain't bad.

Guys, how did they pull it off?! I thought they'd be drafting 6th for sure.

Beyond excited for a top 3 pick, but gotta say, I'm a lot less enthused about Carlsson than Fantilli, so hoping Carlsson fans can get me more hyped, considering it seems most likely we end up with him.

Bedard is Bedard. That skating and elite shot is a dream. And love that he's got some personality and edge to him. And wouldn't matter if he ends up a winger for us.

Fantilli looks to be exactly what the Ducks are lacking. Physicality, great shot, work ethic, and he's got that sandpaper grit that I really think we need. Love a guy with that kind of pride. He would really round out that forward core.

Michkov also has that elite shot and chip on his shoulder. And we're one of the few teams where it isn't a con that he's a winger.

Carlsson has great size and IQ, but we already have Zegras and Terry with an emphasis on that great passing ability. Don't get me wrong, he's amazing, but he just doesn't seem nearly as good of a fit for us. Maybe I'm a little biased towards NA players. One for one, I would 100% take Michkov over him. But obviously the Russian factor changes things. Kind of a bummer.

The more I think about it, the more I'd be inclined to take Michkov honestly if we got 3rd overall.

Yeah, it'd be nice to have a player that could contribute sooner and with zero risk that they'd come to the NHL. But with how much we likely will continue to suck for the next few years, I'd rather just go all out based on how much better of a player I think Michkov will be than Carlsson. I think Michkov is nearly the same caliber as Bedard, and he's had the best DY KHL season ever for a Russian player and it isn't really close. I'm talking better than Panarin, Tarasenko, Kuznetsov, Kucherov, etc., and that's on one of the worst teams in the KHL.

Carlsson's potential is a very good 1C if all goes well, and he still likely is going to stick around in the SHL for a while anyways so it's not like he's going to contribute to the big club out of the gate either. But I think Michkov could be one of the best players in the league one day and I'd risk the pick on that.

CBJ board is fuming, they hate us so much. Poor guys
Those guys have been that way for at least the last week. There's people there that really think the Ducks players intentionally tank. SJ board is just as bad.

And the irony of it all is that their GM (CBJ) did more to tank at the TDL than we did, not to mention they have a better team than we do right now. They are only at the bottom because of injuries and intentional GM TDL tanking.

CBJ, SJ, and chicago were literally icing AHL lineups. our defense was hilariously bad, but the ducks actually had a top 6 for most of the season unlike those teams. not to mention gibson/dostal are miles better than whatever AHL goalie those teams were starting

anyone claiming the ducks were losing on purpose never watched one of their games. the vast majority of their losses were close. it's not like they were getting blown out every night

Yeah that was a fun little debate last night on the main boards, huh?
